OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

One morning my son rescued this Hummingbird from our cat's . We think it flew into our house window and was dazed. We brought it in the house to join us for coffee and watch the news while it recovered. After a half hour or so we placed the hummingbird on our climbing rose bush and said our goodbye's.

Not long after departure from Cootamundra, Pacific National’s 8922 stalled on Morrisons Hill. 8184 and 8178 abandoned their train in Harden and ran light engine to assist.

The Holiday spirits have really gotten into me this year, uh I mean I am REALLY in the spirit.

Dark Agony - Summitto Donum

I spent the evening walking around downtown Dallas with my good photog friend Alisha. She was working on her self portrait for the week, so we hit the streets in search of the perfect location. I think she found a great spot and I can't wait till she posts the photo. Alisha is a very talented photographer with a real creative eye. I know, I know... she shoots Nikon. (Exasperated sigh) I won't hold that against her. ;)

Hjálparfoss - Iceland

With the road to Gjáin and Háifoss closed to traffic we carried on down route 32 to here, Hjálparfoss, the helping falls.

There was no help with the photography here, the wind was just awful. Long shutter speed shots involved standing as close to the camera as possible to shield it from the wind.

We had lunch and moved on!

Just my little assistant helping me out.

It is amazing what happens if we are not afraid to accept a little help!

Everyday hero

Sr2 3244 decided to breakdown just before departing from Helsinki with IC 45. Vectron 3325 came to help and the train was able to start its journey towards Vaasa 85 minutes late. Here the train is arriving in Lempäälä for a quick passenger stop.

It is so nice when you have help.

Favorite road trip moment: making sure this little redbelly got across the road safely. 😍 Was I squealing with delight? Oh yes!!

My first attempt at focus stacking

I've had this "contraption" since I was a kid, but since I broke my neck in 2012 my own hands are mostly paralyzed. So now I rely on this to be my hands for me.

This was a stack of just 16 shots, I think I could have done with some more because there are a few weird bits, never mind, I'll know better next time.

Go ye forth and multiply.

Just 2 more days, folks, and then I'll stop. Promise. ;-)

Happy Shocktober.
