I generally like wide angles for night cityscapes. The tide was SO high and there were no boats to block the view. Next time I’ll go closer to the water and get a perfect city reflection!
Notice the stem leading into the corner, and the shallow depth of field. We also got as close as possible to this flower!
We have a family of deer visiting our backyard. This beautiful doe is one of the larger ones. She was staring at me while it snowed heavily. I call it a Canadian Standoff. 😁
You'll notice that the branch is very sharp, but the background is not. This is called a shallow depth of field (I hope you remember this!) I did this by zooming in closely to the subject and filling the frame with it. Things that affect the "blurriness" of the background are the distance from you to the subject, and distance from the subject to the background. Compare your images!
