Sometimes staging is necessary.

Time of day and season of year combine to cast shadows in unique ways in different places.

Another shot with my Note 8. In a pinch, it's really not a bad substitute for a DSLR camera.

The weather today was just about perfect. I'm glad that this project forces me to go out there even when I'm very busy.

For all of its faults, I like this picture from last night. I didn't have my super telephoto on at the time and it was quite dark so there is chrominance noise. Nevertheless, I love that it captures this wild foal nursing her dam.

I swear I'm not intentionally aiming for moody shots. :)

I have spent almost a week on Salt Spring Island, in the Southern Gulf Islands just off the much larger, well-known Vancouver Island. Amidst artists, winemakers, coffeeshop owners and simply incredibly resourceful, talented and warm-hearted people. Sounds like a snapshot of what Canada is all about? In essence, you've got it all here on Salt Spring Island and more. I completely fell. Head over heels. And already know I'll be back here .. soon !!!
