Happiness is a tank full of gas and an endless road in front of you. So many possibilities; so much to discover. At some point, we'll run out of gas. Until then, let's wander.

Today the big waves and stormy clouds made Okanagan Lake roar. For a moment it felt like I was staring at the Ocean.

Also good for kids and pets, notice how my fountain looks like an ice sculpture! we might need to raise ISO a bit depending on the ambient light, since fast shutter speeds don't let in as much light.

I have spent almost a week on Salt Spring Island, in the Southern Gulf Islands just off the much larger, well-known Vancouver Island. Amidst artists, winemakers, coffeeshop owners and simply incredibly resourceful, talented and warm-hearted people. Sounds like a snapshot of what Canada is all about? In essence, you've got it all here on Salt Spring Island and more. I completely fell. Head over heels. And already know I'll be back here .. soon !!!

A phone shot of Mahoney Lake's reflections.

Couple hang out at Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Ladner, on Westham Island, British Columbia.

The male is the pretty boy and the female is the plain jane. Detail from deltawaterfowl.org

Wood Duck drake in full breeding plumage perched on a log and the females put other plain mottled hens to shame. Both sexes have a crested head. In males, the head has many hues of purple and green with two white lines running from the base of the bill and from the front of the eye to the crest. Chin and throat are white and the large eyes are red. A burgundy chest and purplish back and tail complete a handsome plumage.
