... from the morning mist!
The first signs of Spring buds appearing in the garden .... as the sun tries to break through the morning mist.
I worked 3 images together with some textures and added some colour sliding too.

Helios 44-2 2/58 Soviet lens (from 1975) + FTZ adapter
ISO100, 1/3200 sec, f/2
This photo was photographed outside in natural light in my garden.
This is one image and no editing other than cropping and color tones have been done. No removing of anything was done. I used a dowel attached to the back of the shell and attached to a tripod behind a shrub to give a floating illusion.
To attain the bokeh I had to place the subject and the sun so that the small white flowers, green leaves gives a sort of reflections isolated by empty spaces in between. Also to help further accomplish this the subject was placed further away from the background than it was to the camera.
Spin: The background bokeh along with the shell spiral gives (to me) the effect of spinning.
float: The shell seems to "float" mid-air.
It is winter here by us and I am playing around with this theme/series:
A Winter Garden Fantasy part 1

Although thermometer still has summer temperatures on its mind, the little signs of autumn are here. Cannot wait for cooler weather. San Diego is known for its great mild climate with no real winter, but as someone who lived here for more than 30 years, you get tired of basically 7 months of summer and long for some seasonal changes.
Happy bokeh Wednesday! ❤

I wanted to photograph these flowers, called Leucadendron or sunshine conbush, for a while but never had my camera with me when i saw them. Yesterday I went to the area I saw them at specifically to get some images before the blooms are gone. They also come in gorgeous red color.

This flowering plant is called Adenium obesum, but it is more commonly known as a desert rose. Technically it is actually not a rose, but a succulent and also a poisonous one. The plant in the picture is in my garden. I have it in the planter. I had it for about 5+ years. One year it almost died and I had to prune it a bit in hopes of bringing it back to life. After reading about how all parts of this plants are highly toxic to dogs, cats, horses, and humans, I had to be extra careful with by wearing goggles and gloves. Although, later I have seen some videos on YouTube of people handling this plant with no protection whatsoever......hmm....
Anyhow, the flowers are very pretty and the plants as a whole looks like a little bonsai tree, so I am definitely keeping it despite its problematic nature.
