Out playing with my Helios 44-2. This one turned out quite interesting.

Nach den vielen Wolken und schwarz-weiß-Bildern mal wieder eine wenig Sonne und Farbe :)

Kamera: Canon EOS 600D

With a Helios 77M-4 (50mm f1.8).

Finally found a railing with all the elements working together. A genuine Victorian railing with the late afternoon sun in the background. A nicely clipped hedge and of course the Helios 44 on the camera.

Couldn't resist. Shout out to a Flickr friend and YouTube influencer that has elevated railings to an art form.

This is my first attempt with an old HelioS 44-2 lens that I bought. It gives a nice bokeh effect. The composition is not that great, but I was more interested in getting the leaves sharp and the background with a nice bokeh. I need a lot more practice, but it is quite fun and challenging to get it right. Better ones to come I hope.

First time I've experienced this bizarre lens flare from my old Helios 44-2 lens.

Helios 40. Not the heaviest, not the longest, but still a big heavy beast of a lens!

My first vintage lens, just arrived from Ukraine! This is a Helios 44mm f2, about 65 years old. M-style screw mount. Amazing how cheap these things are - $39 on eBay! Hope to be able to post some results soon.

For the love of vintage glass.
