Lucky Heather.

Whenever I see heather growing in the wild, I always rememver my childhood when gypsies would knock on the door selling "Lucky Heather" to everyone.

They would also walk up and down the High Street in the town selling it to passers by.

Spent last week in the N Yorks Moors to capture the last of the heather before it turns brown and horrible :) This is one of my favourite spots, just below my favourite road which goes to Ralphs Cross. I loved the deep pinks of the heather and the light seemed to fall really nicely!

An afternoon shooting Heather. Waiting for the sun to lower its light was a tad tedious although the choice to go wide and prime, not so clever. From atop Dinas (the peselleys) and aiming toward Newport (Pembrokeshire)

A lovely evening in August on the heathery hills above Hathersage.

Just a tree, and some heather, in the mist. Nothing too complicated, but I like how they compliment each other.

Heather in the Scottish Highlands a wonderful sight when seen au-mass but lovely on it's own too.

I took a trip to the New Forest after a sleepless night for sunrise, hoping for some mist amongst the Heather which flourishes in the area at this time of year. After a 2 mile walk from the car park through some very boggy patches I made it to a misty spot with plenty of Heather and a beautiful lone tree. I love it when Mother Nature puts on such a good show.

Most of the Heather was fading as we drove around Scotland, but I managed to fid this patch of beautiful colour.

I've finished my mini quilt version of the Stitch Along that Rachel is hosting on her blog - Contented. This is a Birthday present for my Mum but I will definitely be making more of these. I love it and it was such a quick and easy little project.
