Thank you for your visit, most appreciated!

The Peak District never fails to put on a good display of Heather each year.

I wonder where it goes? A winding woodland path through Iping Common, Rother Valley, South Downs National Park, West Sussex.

It was cold and windy today, but we had lovely sunshine ... so I grabbed one of my cameras which had the Oreston srewed on it and took some images of the (still) bicoloured heather on my balcony (taken through the hazy dirty window : ))

I just needed a bit bokeh madness today and I hope you don't mind

I bought the heather on Tuesday at the market. I've been looking for a while for something suitable to place in that little spot. Heather reminds me of where I'm from - beautiful Northumberland. :-)

Die 2020er Heideblüte im Abendlicht. Wegen den hohen Temperaturen zu Beginn der Blütephase ist die Heideblüte in diesem Jahr besonders üppig ausgefallen.

The 2020 heather blossom in the evening light. Due to the high temperatures at the beginning of the flowering phase, the heather bloom this year is particularly lush.

The heather is in full bloom at present and providing a wonderful rich colour to the landscape and in particular to the mountainside landscape of Mount Leinster.

The white { Bawn } graniite rocks lie half buried on the pathway leading to Slieve Donard, Mournes, NI. so you have to watch your step. The surface is like this [and worse] all the way up. The path rises continually right up to its summit [ 853m ] which is reached up through the " saddle " in the distance and then turning left [ east ] up along the Mourne Wall. It is fairly unique to have a mountain rise continually from sea level right to its top. As the song say, the "Mountains of Mourne [really do] sweep down to the Sea".

I find the place awe inspiring and this was my first time ever visiting there. Now if only the legs hold out for a few more years I might climb most of them!

I hope you enjoy the photo and have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs n Best wishes to all of you, along this World`s rocky pathways!

Pat.

Heather in bloom on the northern side of Win Hill.

I loved the stone wall and the heather beyond. Beautiful Peak District.

Another from the night/sunrise walk. HSS!

This morning at dawn i went for a hike across a boggy moor to see how the heather was coming on. It was windy and rainy and i did wonder if i aught to have picked a better day, but when the rainbow made an appearance i did momentarily forget about the squelching boots and sodden clothing.

A glorious fantasy looking lone tree silloetted by a vivid sunset picking out the cotton grass and heather. A magical scene.
