I bought a moleskin sketchbook over the summer because I was inspired by the wonderful work Degan does with hers. The above image and the next are the first few I've created in the book. With this piece I started out experimenting with printing a heat transfer in the pages of an old book. It didn't go as well as I'd hoped so I tore the page out and used it as the starting point for a collage. It was very spontaneous and fun to do.
These days I am photographing much less than usual because I've been working on my first major solo show. I am enjoying the whole process of creating the work I'm doing by hand. More later on what I'm up to...
I designed the shapes in Adobe Illustrator, then cut them out of heat transfer material with the Silhouette cutter. More about the project on my blog.

I cut the bird and branch from black smooth heat transfer material and the fly from the pink fuzzy heat transfer material.

Cut out the saying and a Santa has using flocked heat transfer and my Silhouette Cameo and then added a few rhinestones to the hat for some added bling!
