Magistroni was likely the largest Italian producer of quality headsets until Campagnolo took over. This design is one of a variety of headset styles produced by Magistroni from the 30's through the 60's.

Cane Creek is about to introduce a headset with an integrated steering damper devise intended to mitigate shimmy. They're calling it "Viscoset". So far it's only available for 1.125" steerers, because it's aimed at the E-bike and down-hill markets. Low trail randonneuring bikes seem to be predisposed to low speed, no hands, shimmy; but most of those bikes have 1" steerers. I got my hands of a few pre-release Visocets and I made my own cups to adapt them to bikes with 1" steerers. I've got one on my bike, which did have the no hands shimmy, and the shimmy is totally gone. Fingers crossed that Cane Creek makes a 1" version.
My dad owns a small auto body shop located in Burbank. Two men that are the marketing crew from Jim Henson Studios asked my dad to paint Deadmau5's head, of course he said okay! A few days after my dad finished it they brought it back since they dropped it lol, I might post more photos not sure. Deadmau5 is going to use this for his shows and supposedly it is made from a lighter material since the previous ones weighted a lot heavier.
The woman in the photo is my lovely mother who is dear to me and obviously the man is my father. The business is called J.R.'s Do-It-Right Auto Body & Paint. Visit the Yelp page here.

Finally finished Em's 1974 Raleigh International 650B conversion. Fenders to come, and I think she's going to use saddlebags instead of panniers.

The locknut won't stay tight, so I get some rocking when braking. I'm wondering if this is just chewing up the headtube or lower bearing cup. I've read about using loctite on the locknut, but I'm wondering if there isn't another issue that would just be compounded by the loctite approach. Anyone have thoughts? The headset is a non-keyed Stronglight needle bearing version in French dimensions.
Regrettably the headset is in quite a bad condition. Took it apart and the cups are pretty worn out.
Also, the spacer groove in the threading has been filed with a joyfully carelessness: there groove is way too shallow and beside the main groove there is a start of a failed attempt. Thus getting the spacer out took some time and fitting it back in is even harder.
The fork crown however is cool!
The folks at Genuine Bicycle Products offer this conversion headset. It's a basic 1-1/8" threadless headset with the cups turned down to fit an old-school Chicago Schwinn, so you can run a contemporary fork on your vintage whip
