Vintage Pan Am ramp headset, year unknown.
I'm not sure when I'll have the need or opportunity to wear these, but whenever I do, they'll be super-styley.
A young woman with a headset (listening to music?) sitting by the Mississippi River in La Crosse, Wisconsin. With her sandals removed I assume she was dangling her bare feet in the river.
One day my hubby was was and saw a Victorian style lamp on top of a trash can. He thought it had potential for a Steampunk lamp and stopped to check it out. The real find was what was in the trash under the lamp, a whole collection of antique phones. Someone suggested to us that this may have been from a hotel.. The one on the far left may have been a line mans phone,
My Mother was an Operator with Bell of Pennsylvania in the late 1950's and early 1960's. Here she is modeling a headset like the one she used then.
i got tired of craning my neck to hold my phone... so i hooked up this gag handset from the jibjab holidary party and clamped it to my head with an eye mask from brookstone ... cool, eh?
The headset or shall I say earbud the PS4 originally came with was just not cutting it. A pair of iPod headphones would do better.

Cane Creek is about to introduce a headset with an integrated steering damper devise intended to mitigate shimmy. They're calling it "Viscoset". So far it's only available for 1.125" steerers, because it's aimed at the E-bike and down-hill markets. Low trail randonneuring bikes seem to be predisposed to low speed, no hands, shimmy; but most of those bikes have 1" steerers. I got my hands of a few pre-release Visocets and I made my own cups to adapt them to bikes with 1" steerers. I've got one on my bike, which did have the no hands shimmy, and the shimmy is totally gone. Fingers crossed that Cane Creek makes a 1" version.
