In Home Ec, the girls tasted homemade pretzels. They learned about the symbolism of pretzels, Easter symbols, and Germany.
This little hedgehog was at the Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth. It would peek out at the girls and then roll into a ball. It was SO cute. This one is like the ones that live in Africa. There are larger hedgehogs in England.
The girls are doing a homeschool unit study about Africa, so seeing the African hedgehog, the freshwater stingray (found only in Africa and South America), and lion cubs on this trip were all unexpected bonuses on this trip during the first week of homeschooling.
