2:41pm - This was on my car's door handle when I got back out from PetSmart. A lady saw me standing there trying to shoo it away, took off her sandal and smashed it.
I felt clever doing this. Not only did I have the silver ring in my tool box already, but it solved the problem of having to graft or bind off the two ends without looking sloppy. Folded neatly over the loop and sewn in place it looks quite lovely from both sides. And I can clip my keys onto my bag while shopping

This is the nightmare 5 piece mold I had to create to give me all the cavity space for various mechanisms.
I think this is at the new MOMA. Nice bathroom stall handle. Handle and lock in one, *very* easy to use, AND snazzy looking.
Now with the cover in place. Originally this was cast as one piece, but it looked awful so I redid the handle bottom on the mold and then cast this separately.
This rayon fabric tends to sag so I cut a 3cm wide fusible interfacing stabilizing layer. I installed it after the princess seams were sewn and had to shrink the front back in to the pattern dimensions - it had probably stretched with handling by about 7mm (1/4").

I assume all the red handles deal with the steam controls, but this is only my guess. I should have signed up to learn how to drive trains a long time ago.
