I already had Cedric's stand planned before my sister even ordered him off Amazon. Since his uniform was similar to Triwizard Harry's, it was obvious to coordinate their handmade stands. I didn't have Cedric in person to use for reference when making this. Normally I wait until a doll arrives to make them things (or even to add them to the inventory...you never know what could happen in the mail). But since Luna was already here and I had the saw/drill press out to make her stand, I went ahead with Cedric's too. I pulled pictures of him up online for color reference. He has a grey and yellow two toned shirt, thus why I chose these colors. I love the split style that I used for Harry and my Cruella De Vil stands. It's not hard to achieve it either, it just takes some patience while waiting for one half to dry.
Luna's is my obvious favorite from this photo. Colleen said Luna's might be her fave of ALL the stands I've made from her Harry Potter dolls. Ironically, I had no idea what the theme of this stand would be, until Luna arrived. In stock photos, her black patterned shirt is covered up. It wasn't until I saw her in person that I could appreciate the details of her shirt. That's where I took direct inspiration from. I painted it black like her shirt and replicated some of the designs from it. Unlike most of my other stands, I actually painted the designs on all sides of this one, and even the top. Since this is a more petite in size, I wouldn't have had much room to capture this amazing print on just the front panel (especially since her name was written there). Admittedly I spent WAY more time on Luna's stand than Cedric's...probably 2 1/2 of the 3 hours it took me to make these were concentrated just on Miss Lovegood's stand!
Colleen acquired both Deathly Hallows Voldemort and Sirius Black in 2025 (on separate occasions of course). Voldemort came with a stand since he is a fancy Mattel Creations doll. But I prefer the fun of making my own, and they are heavier because they are wooden. Unfortunately, I didn't realize when I last bought scraps of baseboard at Home Depot, that I grabbed a section made of particle board. Poor Voldemort and Sirius ended up with the particle board stands--that's why the texture doesn't look as smooth. They are definitely still usable, but I will make sure NOT to buy particle board in the future. It's cheaper quality, doesn't sand down as smoothly, and the paint doesn't look as good on it. Anyways, I was inspired by both of their outfits for these stands. Voldemort has a snakeskin pattern on his outfit beneath his black robe. I mimicked this, but did the scales in shimmery green instead of silver (to match the color I picked for his stand base). I loved the print on Sirius's shirt, so I did my own interpretation of it for his stand. The orange dots are based on the printed buttons down the front of his shirt (Mattel was too cheap to put real ones on his top). I like how the orange adds a pop of color!

Sticking to socks like these from now on: (1) cuff down, (2) simple ribbing.
I unravelled my "purple ocean" socks because it was loose and I had dropped a stitch several rows before and never noticed. Not worth fixing. I also figured out that plain "vanilla" socks are just too boring, and that I don't enjoy toe-up knitting.
