For TRP - Hand Art
Ok, so I may have taken the challenge a little to literally. Sometimes that happens. At least I tried! Now off to wash my hands.
By request from my co-resident Martin.
Although it was thought of as the perfect machine during earlier conflicts, it's inner workings were really at their peak decades ago. It used to launch giant devastating gobs of flaming napalm a thousand yards into the homes of unsuspecting civilians. Now it just kind of oozes small amounts of less-potent napalm jelly onto whatever it drags its sagging treads across.
My doodle, inspired by Ravenbraids (also with a bunch of henna slopped all over the bottom of my foot!)

Another cold, cold day (read -21oC without windchill) inspired me to drag my morning routine on a little longer than the usual. I enjoyed a warm cup of coffee while flipping through a photography magazine.....I really should consider the relaxed morning a more often. Nothing comforts like a warm mug of coffee.
last night i had a serious moment where i was like "really? i picked out this color?" but this morning working on it i realized that i do like it. it reminds me of a pair of socks i had in high school; my aunt and uncle gave them to me, to go with my ducky birkenstocks, and for many many years they were my favorite socks. when they finally got a hole in them, i was terribly sad.
I really need to buy some facepaint for last minute brilliant 365 plans. But happy Solstice everyone! From now on the Winter may get colder, but my days will gather more and more hours of sunlight, so I'm happy.
The East Side Gallery is an international memorial for freedom. It is a 1.3km long section of the Berlin Wall located near the centre of Berlin and consists of approximately 106 paintings by artists from all over the world, painted on the east side of the Berlin Wall. It is possibly the largest and everlasting open air gallery in the world. The first painting was started by Christine Mac Lean in December 1989 immediately after the fall of the wall. Paintings from Kasra Alavi, Kani Alavi, Jim Avignon, Thierry Noir, Ingeborg Blumenthal, Ignasi Blanch i Gisbert, and others have followed.
The paintings at the East Side Gallery document the time of change and express the euphoria and great hopes for a better and free future for all people of the world. For tourists the most interesting part of the East Side Gallery is the section close to station Ostbahnhof where all the paintings were completely restored. Also of interest is the river-side part of the East Side Gallery which shows the current art of Berlin's graffiti scene.
In July 2006, to facilitate access to the River Spree from O2 World, a 40 meter section was moved somewhat west, parallel to the original position.
Two-thirds of the paintings are badly damaged by erosion, graffiti, and vandalism. One-third has been restored by a non-profit organization which started work in 2000. The objective of this organization is the eventual restoration and preservation of all the paintings.
