Day 326. 19/05/2011

They say the life of university years are the most memorable. I dont know if thats true, but what I do know is it will definitely leave an impact on my life. The friends that I made, the memories- the memorable and the forgettable, all of it.

Almost done with 4 years, one more to go and I dont know what life has in store for me as a doctor.

I'm in a rather different mood for my 365. This is a picture of a door in our dorm, which bears marks of Holi from a couple of years back.

Finally LA gets some rain.

The monkey asked me if I'd ever seen a rainier day than this. Pretty sad that it's been so long since it rained that he doesn't even remember it ever raining harder than this drizzle.

For FGR and the hand art group

Hopefully this qualifies. The group page did say that photos of hands were cool even without something drawn on them.

I've always been fascinated with Mystical and Sacred Art of Mendhi! Mehndi is a traditional art from South Asia and India that is applied to skin during celebratory occasions. Even though I had a traditional Western wedding, I had mehndi designs drawn on my hands))) So I thought a lot of time how I could designed something similar to mehndi ornaments, but if there will be opportunity to wear it and take off when I want! I created an unique pattern and made my first mitt looking like henna art). This design are lacy, curly, delicate, tracery and pretty unique! The MitTians wears through little finger on left or right hand! As crocheted fabric is very stretchy and adjusts to wearer's shape, this mitt easily fit on arm size 7-8 and finger diameter 1,8-2"{4,5-5,5 cm}.

Lesson learned: don't try to take pictures of your own hand when you have just seen the results of your routine blood work. All is well in cholesterol-land. My HDL rocks and my LDL is just fine. There are a couple of other gray areas and I need to go back in a month for another test. I hate needles!

Anita, these are the kind of fake henna tattoos I was telling you about! Each sheet has a pattern for the whole hand, this little thing and a pattern for the upper arm. They work like any other kid's tattoo: cut the paper, put it face down on your skin, apply water to the paper, press down for 30 secs or so and take the paper off. It comes off with rubbing alcohol or even nail polish remover.

For Flickr Group Roulette's "Shakespeare" day. I love writing/doodling, and I love quotes, so I found in my Quotionary (dictionary of Quotes) this great Shakespeare quote!
