U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program SSG John Nunn competes in the men's 20-kilometer race walk at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials on June 30 at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Nunn, who had already qualified for Team USA in the 50K race walk for the London Olympic Games, used the event as a training walk and stopped around the 10k mark with a nagging hamstring. New York Athletic Club's Trever Barron, a 19-year-old from Colorado Springs, Colo., won the 20-kilometer walk with an American record time of 1 hour, 23 minutes and .10 seconds. Quakers took the lead on 39 minutes. West Didsbury won a corner on their left, but Quakers defended it well, broke away through Salkeld, who put the ball through for Matty Cornish to lift the ball over the advancing keeper, his first goal of the season.
But West Didsbury levelled five minutes later . Lazenbury broke the offside trap, ran through and beat Jameson with a deflected shot, the first goal Quakers have conceded in six games.
Quakers retook the lead on 68 minutes. Will Hatfield got to the bye line and pulled the ball back for Nelson to turn into the bottom left corner, his first goal of the season. However, Hatield then limped off with a hamstring injury.

There were 6 coyotes hunting a white-tailed deer doe on the north shore of Lower Derby Lake today. They had torn her hamstrings up pretty badly, but she was still fighting them off and keeping them at bay when I left after watching them for over an hour. She was bleeding a bit fromm her back end. In the end, I am sure the coyotes will get their meal, but not without a fight. These photos are best viewed in the large size. The deer and coyotes were about 600 yards away on the far side of the lake.
Seemed like a good idea at the time! Which included sleep deprivation,freezing cold, a torn hamstring muscle, yet to have breakfast, freezing cold, dawn, and freezing cold, but I happened to have my simple P&S camera in my pocket! It was freezing cold!

This is a short video of a squat which can be done with a stability ball. Although, some may say it is less functional, it does relieve some of the pressure on the back, ensuring good technique and does have a slight 'massage' tendency! However, you are still using the same muscles for the squat (lglute, quads and hamstrings).

90/365: Spring Renewal
Spring brings a time for renewal and birth. A time to move forward from the past and refresh with something new. Approximately 1 year ago I felt an immense pain in my hamstring. At the time, it was thought this was a minor hamstring injury. As time moved forward it was reveled that this was a major back issue. As spring comes, I’m trying to still move forward with my new way of life, grieving for the old and sometime excited for the future.
