Urmston Hockey Club who were the Lancashire Cup holderslost 3-0 to Didsbury Northern in the Final. The had two players with hamstring injuries, hence the shorts and one with a thigh strain and one player ill. It was a good game and Didsbury were the better team on the day. My son pictured plays for Urmston.

U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program SSG John Nunn competes in the men's 20-kilometer race walk at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials on June 30 at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Nunn, who had already qualified for Team USA in the 50K race walk for the London Olympic Games, used the event as a training walk and stopped around the 10k mark with a nagging hamstring. New York Athletic Club's Trever Barron, a 19-year-old from Colorado Springs, Colo., won the 20-kilometer walk with an American record time of 1 hour, 23 minutes and .10 seconds. He and Nunn will be the only two men race walking for Team USA in London. U.S. Army photo by Tim Hipps, IMCOM Public Affairs
Flexibility and relaxation of the muscles are big continuing factors for this child in her goal to walk independently. Her hamstrings are tight and her quadraceps are weak. This is her biggest challenge in walking. Even standing is a physical challenge.
Awake. Final touches are added to my post for the week. When I have more time later it will get scheduled to post. Work. Too many meetings. Home. My sister needs cooking advice. Of course, I'm always happy to talk food! Onto the mat where it ends up being all about the hamstrings, a handstand or two, and practicing pincha. To the studio for my Tuesday night Vinyasa class. It too is all about the hamstrings but with the added fun of balancing as we head to virabhadrasana 3. It's a good thing that was my plan all along. Everyone has sore, tired arms from all the shoveling in recent days. After class I share my proud news: It was my 100th class. I've loved every minute of it. They wish me happy anniversary. Home. Leftovers reheated plus a little cobbler for dessert. I order some books for my brother. I hope they help in his journey. I'm not sure what else to do. Afterwards I pick up my laptop and get some fun yoga business done. The post gets scheduled. The website is updated with new session information along with my brand new class offering and description. I update my handouts then move onto drafting my upcoming newsletter reminding people of the next Flow + Restore class plus the big, new class announcement and March/April session schedule. I shouldn't stay up so late but I do. It's work that feels like anything but work. I need some of that. Finally bed at 10:45. That's unheard of for me. I hope it is easy to peel myself out of bed tomorrow.

Sharon, Val and Zoe just before the London Moonwalk. We managed to complete the half-Moonwalk in 3 hours - not a bad time. Sadly I managed to acquire a hamstring injury somewhere along the way and have been hobbling ever since :( (written a week later.

Feb. 11, 2010, 8:03 p.m. Claire O'Donnell and Marc do their post-run hamstring stretches. The Running Room (Slater St.) marathon clinic members have returned from a -6°C, 8 km run from Ottawa to Gatineau and back, called the “bridges” route. Note the effect the camera’s flash has on the reflective running apparel.
Santana Moss (WR) tweaked his hamstring going up for a pass right before he slipped. He was getting stretched out here and did not practice for the rest of the session.

This little beauty is a foam roller. It's used for myofascial release, which is a form of soft tissue therapy.
Been trying to restore some lost flexibility since I pulled my hamstring and I'm realizing I'm not all that flexible to begin with.
Feels great after you do it, but during it's like dancing barefoot with misery wearing military boots. Oh, and she can't dance.....
Spent a night shooting with a friend and paying the price today. 5 hours sleep, hamstring cramps, shoulder that can’t support an iPhone. Need recovery.
Transitioning to the road bike (1971 Mondia Special - had to be the oldest bike in the race!) - and my hamstrings are still burning :)
