A clear, cold day in February leading to a spectacular sunset seen over the River Colne valley at Halstead Essex.
Reflections by the River, though unfortunately I am unable to discover the history of this style of architecture here.

The river Colne rises south of Cambridge in the Chilternchalk ridge and flows East to the North Sea at Colne Point near Colchester. The field here was the site of an early Romano-British villa.

Droning around the lovely old market town of Halstead, Essex. We have some very nice buildings in our pretty little town, including the 11th century Parish Church of St Andrew and the Victorian North Mill. In the late 19th Century we got the Courtauld Homes of Rest and many of the shops on Market Hill and Hedingham Road. In the 20th Century the new Baptist Church arrived and of course we still have lots of green spaces and mature trees!

Ok...I have another vent...I love Neil Halstead...he's one of those musicians who I can't help but feel is drastically underrated, atleast in America. Anyhow, I really enjoyed seeing him this past Thursday night and was looking up his myspace page to put a link for those who don't know him when I see that his banner reads "On tour with Jack Johnson this August." Now I ask, why would he do this? I mean, maybe I don't fully understand the situation completely but surely reuniting either Slowdive or Mojave 3 would be much less painful than opening up for Jack Johnson...and I don't think any of those dumb toshes are going to fall in love with him while he's opening. They're just going to talk and swill their beer and wait for Jack Johnson...who they will probably just talk and swill their beer through slightly less.
Oh. I hope none of you are Jack Johnson fans. :-/
Dear Neil,
You should be playing large venues. I appreciate you. You are a hundred times Jack Johnson. The man doesn't even exist to me like you do.
Love,
Kirstie

An invitation arrived in my inbox during the week to join the Gurney family on board the Sprinter BU04UTP , new to Telling Golden Miller in 2004.We were picked up at Knockholt Railway Station and treated to a leisurely jolly around Halstead and Knockholt. Most enjoyable , and we even became an unofficial runner on the 431B which was being recreated on the day under the title "Fort Halstead Running Day" event comprised of four London Transport RF types and one RT.
