Happy Truck Thursday!
NOTE: I'll be offline starting the 9th and returning toward the end of the month.
All is okay - I have some vacation and some volunteer work over next few weeks and it will be too inconvenient to be online.
I apologize in advance for not commenting on my Happy Truck Thursday Group and will see you when I get back. I hope to get some photography in as well ...but only time will tell!
The International Harvester K and KB Series are trucks that were produced by International Harvester, the first being the K introduced in mid 1940. In total there were 42 models, 142 different wheelbase lengths and load ratings ranging from 1/2 ton to 90,000 lbs. They are best known for their durability, prewar design in a postwar era, and low price.
This is an older shot. I happened to drive past here today and saw that this truck was not there. Now I am a bit frightened that she has been taken away.

Just an older shot. We may be relocating in a few months so I better get out there and shoot a supply for later....lol

Slight reflection from my window that I did not have time to roll down. That is my story and I am sticking to it.

Something short and sweet and new from me.
Another piece arrived from China. This little baby was priced around $15.00 with probably $15.00 shipping.
These metal vehicles look awesome using the right lens.

No! - didn't let the snow slow me down - I went out to find some trucks for a nice mono image.
Winter seems to be over and the snow melted - this was taken just over 3 weeks ago... and the ground is now showing through.
Sorry if you missed me - I have been off while I had some relatives visiting over last few weeks - couldn't give Flickr the attention needed so I did not post -- all okay - will catch up where I can.
Unfortunately both these places are not open at present. I feel so bad for the restaurants. I believe Legends did take out but that is still a loss.

a few kilometers outside of town is this lovely little market. Always great things and good to shop locally.

You probably don’t even see this truck do you? It is so well camouflaged that I could hardly find it myself.
I don’t know if this military truck is abandon in the middle of this field or if someone is coming back for it. It has a large hole in the front windshield and the canvas top is in poor shape.
Does anyone know what that canister is on the left front fender? I don’t think it is a jet propulsion system like 007 might have. It looks like it holds gas or some type of liquid though. HTT
I come across this truck fairly regularly. I just happened to have my camera on the front seat with me.

I sometimes like to grab my toys and go play in the yard. It helps me to feel young again. Or maybe I sort of stayed like a kid at heart.

Note: will be on and off next couple days as I work at Iowa State Fair -- both working with photo contest winners as well as having fun taking photosl.
I might run behind with comments and apologize up front!
(I had 3 image on display with 1 getting an HM)
Something with a bit of fun. I am getting low on good quality truck shots so I will need to step up my game.

It just struck me as a bit different this scene. No reason I guess. Just different.

Leftovers from the liquidation of a vintage car parts dealership. This lot was once so packed it was hard to walk through. But the older gentleman that ran it knew where everything was...of course!
Found on some dusty dirt roads south of Des Moines late November.
Could be a possible restore with one for parts the other under construction or they had a business with a fleet of trucks.
I've been told its wise to leave the hoist up when letting a lift truck sit for a time. But I doubt there's much advantage when that period of rest becomes more permanent....HTT everyone!
This old red pick-up is caught between the old limestone house up front and the distant new modern red farm and has no place to go.

A little while back we took a drive to Bayfield ON. Pretty little town much like Paris and Niagara on the Lake. Tiny shops everywhere. A lot of fun and a few dollars spent.
And this baby. I did not like that it was so bright out, but what can a guy do?

In my travels today, I passed several areas which had power poles exactly like these marching into the distance. Consequently, I am not exactly sure what road I was on when I took this, but I can say it is in Lancaster County, Virginia. The power company always does a nice job of keeping the easement area cleared. HTT
I know you can get antique plates for any vehicle over 25 years old. However, ‘antique’ always gives me an image of a beautifully restored car or truck, with shinny paint and original equipment. IMO this is an ‘old’ Ford truck.
I took a picture of this truck on a sunny day and the glare off the windshield was glaringly obvious and very distracting. I went back the other day when it was cloudy and it worked much better.
I hope someone knows the year of this truck. HTT
