Site description The site is a National Park covering 36,000 ha of the High Atlas, including the highest mountain in Morocco, Jbel Toubkal (4,167 m). Located only 60 km south of the town of Marrakech, the dramatic mountain scenery attracts thousands of visitors each year, many of whom climb Jbel Toubkal or trek elsewhere in the park. The mountain summits are often only slightly above the level of their surrounding high plateaus, which are separated by deep valleys. The park extends from 1,000 m upwards and therefore encompasses a range of vegetation-types, from forest to alpine meadow. Forest only covers 15% of the park, and consists mainly of the oldest Quercus rotundifolia stands in the High Atlas and Juniperus thurifera. Along the valleys, irrigated agriculture is practised and most of the park is used for extensive livestock-grazing.
More than 95 breeding species have been recorded, among them nine species of the Mediterranean North Africa biome. Thirteen raptors are recorded, among them Gypaetus barbatus, which definitely bred in the park until 1980. The Parc National de Toubkal is one of only two areas in Morocco where Apus caffer has been recorded breeding, and also holds several species with quite localized distributions in Africa, such as Rhodopechys sanguinea and Eremophila alpestris.
Conservation issues The National Park was created by 'Arrête viziriel' on 19 January 1942. Despite its protected status, the park has been facing growing pressures since the 1960s. Poaching has wiped out some species and overgrazing has destroyed or degraded much of the natural vegetation. Tourism has mushroomed and led to erosion of footpaths—on some days 30-40 tourists may be found together at one time on the summit of Jbel Toubkal, in spite of the long and arduous trek required to reach it. To counter these threats and safeguard wildlife, in the 1950s AEFCS created a reserve for Ammotragus lervia adjacent to the park, and in 1994 enclosed an area of 1,000 ha for the reintroduction of Gazella cuvieri. Both these measures have resulted in the protection of areas of forest habitat which are important for breeding birds. In 1994, a management plan for the park was drawn up under the auspices of AEFCS. Further conservation measures required include the training of local guides; the protection of nest-sites of the rarer bird species, particularly raptors; maintenance of trails to prevent erosion; and the establishment of grazing enclosures to protect endemic plant species.

Paisaje Sur. Plan de Mejora del Paisaje Urbano en Usera y Villaverde
Artistas de vanguardia decoran las fachadas, muros y otras zonas con “graffitis” de diseño
Un experimento sociológico en Nueva York instaló dos coches en barrios muy diferentes de esta ciudad: el suburbial Bronx, y el bohemio y elegante Village. A ambos vehículos se les rompieron las ventanillas. El que se colocó en el Bronx, a las 24 horas había sido vandalizado y estaba destrozado. El del Village, lo mismo. “Cuando un espacio está degenerado, esa sensación se contagia, y se acelera la degradación”, concluye el concejal de Las Artes, Pedro Corral. Precisamente para evitar este efecto, se han elegido los distritos de Usera y Villaverde para la segunda experiencia de Mejora del Paisaje Urbano en la capital, un experimento que lleva el arte urbano más vanguardista a las zonas degradadas de los distritos periféricos. La idea es convertir lo que hasta ahora era un espacio abandonado –una tapia de un solar, una fachada, un muro medianero entre bloques...– en una referencia artística para los vecinos. Lo hacen contando con éstos, con artistas vinculados a los barrios y de renombre en el panorama del arte urbano. Con sus creaciones, dan una nueva vida a lugares que están abandonados, sin uso o que el tiempo ha deteriorado. Les dotan de una nueva personalidad, y en función del artista y de la inspiración del lugar, pueden llegar a transformar una plaza, un solar o una medianería sin aparente gracia en un rincón lleno de arte, y convertir las calles en auténticos museos al aire libre.
Este plan, desarrollado por la Dirección General de Patrimonio Cultural y Calidad del Paisaje Urbano del Ayuntamiento de Madrid, se enmarca en las líneas estratégicas encaminadas al fomento de la creatividad, la participación pública, la colaboración con los distritos y la difusión del paisaje urbano.
Paisaje Sur engloba un conjunto de actuaciones en Usera y Villaverde, tras el éxito del proyecto piloto en el distrito de Tetuán. Las acciones incluyen intervenciones sobre muros deteriorados, en plazas duras y la mejora y acondicionamiento de huertos urbanos. Participan artistas y colectivos, organizaciones ciudadanas, agentes culturales, económicos y sociales de los barrios, en coordinación con las Juntas Municipales de distrito. Los espacios y el tipo de intervenciones se han decidido tras analizar las necesidades de cada distrito así como los posibles ámbitos de actuación del proyecto. Además se ha contactado con el tejido asociativo y vecinal de los diferentes espacios a intervenir para involucrar a los vecinos en esta "puesta en valor" de sus barrios.
Entre las intervenciones, se encuentran murales realizados por creadores y colectivos de artistas radicados en el distrito. También se han acondicionado espacios o solares con huertos urbanos ya creados por los vecinos, con la intención de mejorar sus infraestructuras y dar apoyo a sus usuarios. Asimismo, se van a realizar acciones sobre plazas duras, mediante la creación de infraestructuras y espacios culturales portátiles demandados por los vecinos en plazas con poco uso para su gestión ciudadana. Se organizan, además, charlas con los vecinos para explicarles las acciones y se han nombrado coordinadores vecinales para que, como agentes sociales con conocimiento del contexto social y cultural, coordinen y difundan el proyecto dentro de cada uno de los barrios a través de visitas guiadas.
Estos proyectos se están llevando a cabo de la mano de Intermediae-Matadero Madrid, que han contado con Basurama, PEC, Todo por la Praxis, Zuloark, Las Ciento Volando, Jóvenes Creadores de Villaverde, Cruz Roja de Villaverde, Asociación Vecinal La Incolora de Villaverde, Servicio de Dinamización de Espacios Públicos de la Asociación La Rueca, Asociación de Vecinos Zofío de Usera, Sala Kubik Fabril y Espacio Oculto. Además han participado destacados artistas como LAGUNA, 3TTMAN, SUE, SPOCK y DOSJOTAS en el distrito de Usera; y LIQEN, ESCIF, SAM3, ARYZ y E1000 en el distrito de Villaverde.
Durante el año 2014, se han realizado doce de estas intervenciones en varias localizaciones diferentes

Always good storm chasing stories to tell about my weather adventures in 2014.
Days right after my knee operated on... Home from the hospital & I definitely wasn't supposed to be out and about. Knee was almost in a cast and I wasn't supposed to be doing anything to aggravate the situation. Though my quest for severe weather never ends and I wasn't going to miss another possible chase especially when its in my backyard. This storm was going to be a photogenic monster... Decision was made & off I went.
Personal Note *** On the original set Back in 2014 I had use the free Avery photo editor here Flickr and it wasn't the best but I had no prior knowledge of editing them back then. Only shot in .jpg format and I didn't do the best by over coloring and over saturation. Was very under experienced in photo editing back then.
This is the original set of captures from this day. There are some here that are edited but most of them are not altered here. Another epic set of thunderstorm captures from South Central Nebraska.
By going out ... I paid for it. Soreness without relief for a few days after this shoot. Knee after the surgery was super sore with lots of swelling. All worth it when it comes to what epic views I caught storm chasing on that particular day!

Ας θυμηθούμε πώς ήταν η ανθρωπότητα την εποχή του Νώε. Οι άνθρωποι έκαναν κάθε λογής κακία, χωρίς να τους περνάει καν από το μυαλό η μετάνοια. Κανένας τους δεν άκουγε τον λόγο του Θεού. Η αδιαλλαξία και η κακία τους προκάλεσαν την οργή του Θεού, και στο τέλος όλοι αφανίστηκαν από την καταστροφή του μεγάλου κατακλυσμού. Μόνο ο Νώε και η οκταμελής οικογένειά του άκουσαν τον λόγο του Θεού και μπόρεσαν να επιβιώσουν. Τώρα, οι έσχατες ημέρες είναι ήδη εδώ. Η διαφθορά της ανθρωπότητας όλο και βαθαίνει. Οι πάντες λατρεύουν το κακό. Ολόκληρος ο θρησκευτικός κόσμος ακολουθεί το ρεύμα του κόσμου. Δεν αγαπούν ούτε στο ελάχιστο την αλήθεια. Οι ημέρες του Νώε είναι ήδη εδώ! Προκειμένου να σώσει την ανθρωπότητα, ο Θεός έχει επιστρέψει και πάλι για να κάνει το έργο της κρίσεως των εσχάτων ημερών ανάμεσα στην ανθρωπότητα. Αυτή είναι η τελευταία φορά που ο Θεός σώζει τον άνθρωπο! Τι θα πρέπει να επιλέξει η ανθρωπότητα; Η ιστορία αυτή είναι αληθινή. Από τότε που οι κάτοικοι του Κινγκπίνγκ στην επαρχία Σετσουάν επανειλημμένα αρνήθηκαν να δεχτούν το Ευαγγέλιο της βασιλείας του Παντοδύναμου Θεού, έχουν υποστεί δύο καταστροφές. Στον Μεγάλο Σεισμό του Σετσουάν, πολλοί αδελφοί και αδελφές που πίστευαν στον Παντοδύναμο Θεό προστατεύτηκαν θαυματουργικά από τον Θεό και επέζησαν. Αυτά τα γεγονότα είναι αφηγήσεις αυτοπτών μαρτύρων: μιλάνε για εκείνους που δέχονται τον Θεό και Τον υπακούν και για εκείνους που Τον αρνούνται και Του αντιστέκονται. Αυτά τα δύο είδη ανθρώπων έχουν πολύ διαφορετική κατάληξη!
Αστραπή της Ανατολής, η Εκκλησία του Παντοδύναμου Θεού δημιουργήθηκε λόγω της εμφάνισης και του έργου του Παντοδύναμου Θεού, της Δευτέρας Παρουσίας του Ιησού Χριστού, του Χριστού των εσχάτων ημερών. Απαρτίζεται από όλους εκείνους που αποδέχονται το έργο του Παντοδύναμου Θεού κατά τις έσχατες ημέρες κι έχουν κυριευτεί και λυτρωθεί από τα λόγια Του. Ιδρύθηκε εξ ολοκλήρου από τον ίδιο τον Παντοδύναμο Θεό και είναι Αυτός ο Ποιμένας της που την καθοδηγεί. Σίγουρα δεν έχει δημιουργηθεί από κάποιο πρόσωπο. Ο Χριστός είναι η αλήθεια, η οδός κι η ζωή. Το ποίμνιο του Θεού ακούει τη φωνή Του. Αρκεί να διαβάσετε τα λόγια του Παντοδύναμου Θεού για να δείτε ότι ο Θεός έχει εμφανιστεί.

Ο Θεός λέει:«... Παρότι η ανθρωπότητα μόνο μετά την έλευση της καλλιέργειας άρχισε να καταλαβαίνει και να αντιμετωπίζει τον διαχωρισμό των σεληνιακών περιόδων, των ημερών και των χρόνων που ήταν το αποτέλεσμα των φωστήρων που δημιούργησε ο Θεός, στην πραγματικότητα, οι σεληνιακές περίοδοι, οι μέρες και τα χρόνια που σήμερα αντιλαμβάνεται ο άνθρωπος άρχισαν να δημιουργούνται πολύ πιο πριν, από την τέταρτη ημέρα που ο Θεός δημιούργησε όλα τα πράγματα, το ίδιο και οι εναλλασσόμενοι κύκλοι άνοιξη, καλοκαίρι, φθινόπωρο και χειμώνας που γνωρίζουν οι άνθρωποι και αυτοί ξεκίνησαν πολύ πιο πριν, την τέταρτη ημέρα της δημιουργίας όλων των πραγμάτων από τον Θεό. Οι φωστήρες που δημιούργησε ο Θεός έδωσαν στον άνθρωπο τη δυνατότητα να μπορεί τακτικά, επακριβώς και ξεκάθαρα να ξεχωρίζει τη μέρα από τη νύχτα, να μπορεί να μετρά τις μέρες και να μπορεί ξεκάθαρα να παρακολουθεί τις σεληνιακές περιόδους και τα χρόνια. (Η μέρα της πανσελήνου σηματοδοτούσε την ολοκλήρωση ενός μήνα κι από αυτό ο άνθρωπος ήξερε ότι η φώτιση των φωστήρων ξεκινούσε έναν νέο κύκλο. Η μέρα της ημισελήνου σηματοδοτούσε την ολοκλήρωση μισού μήνα, που σήμαινε για τον άνθρωπο ότι άρχιζε μια νέα σεληνιακή περίοδος, πράγμα από το οποίο μπορούσε να συμπεράνει κανείς πόσες μέρες και νύχτες υπήρχαν σε μια σεληνιακή περίοδο, πόσες σεληνιακές περίοδοι υπήρχαν στην κάθε εποχή, πόσες εποχές υπήρχαν μέσα σε έναν χρόνο και όλα αυτά επαναλαμβάνονταν τακτικά). ... »

Honfleur is a commune in the Calvados department in Normandy en.normandie-tourisme.fr/normandy-tourism-109-2.html in northwestern France. It is located on the southern bank of the estuary of the Seine across from le Havre and very close to the exit of the Pont de Normandie. Its inhabitants are called Honfleurais. It is especially known for its old, beautiful picturesque port, characterized by its houses with slate-covered frontages, painted many times by artists, including in particular Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet and Johan Jongkind, forming the école de Honfleur (Honfleur school) which contributed to the appearance of the Impressionist movement. The Sainte-Catherine church, which has a bell tower separate from the principal building, is the largest church made out of wood in France. The first written record of Honfleur is a reference by Richard III, Duke of Normandy, in 1027. By the middle of the 12th century, the city represented a significant transit point for goods from Rouen to England. Located on the estuary of one of the principal rivers of France with a safe harbour and relatively rich hinterland, Honfleur profited from its strategic position from the start of the Hundred Years' War. The town's defences were strengthened by Charles V in order to protect the estuary of the Seine from attacks from the English. This was supported by the nearby port of Harfleur. However, Honfleur was taken and occupied by the English in 1357 and from 1419 to 1450. When under French control, raiding parties often set out from the port to ransack the English coasts, including partially destroying the town of Sandwich, in Kent, England, in the 1450s. At the end of the Hundred Years' War, Honfleur benefited from the boom in maritime trade until the end of the 18th century. Trade was disturbed during the wars of religion in the 16th century. The port saw the departure of a number of explorers, in particular in 1503 of Binot Paulmierde Gonneville to the coasts of Brazil. In 1506, local man Jean Denis departed for Newfoundland island and the mouth of the Saint Lawrence. An expedition in 1608, organised by Samuel de Champlain, founded the city of Quebec in modern day Canada. After 1608, Honfleur thrived on trade with Canada, the West Indies, the African coasts and the Azores. As a result, the town became one of the five principal ports for the slave trade in France. During this time the rapid growth of the town saw the demolition of its fortifications on the orders of Colbert. The wars of the French revolution and the First Empire, and in particular the continental blockade, caused the ruin of Honfleur. It only partially recovered during the 19th century with the trading of wood from northern Europe. Trade was however limited by the silting up of the entrance to the port and development of the modern port at Le Havre. The port however still functions today. There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。

バブル崩壊後、バブル前までのことなどをひっくるめて、以下に書かれていることはまったく正しい。
どうしてスティーブ・ジョブズのような人が出てこなかったのか。残念でなりません。

デービッド・アトキンソン氏曰く、「日本の経営者は奇跡的無能」とのこと(近著)。
子供の時から暗記ばかりすると思考力が落ちる研究結果を地でゆく人種。
東大卒、東大に入れなかった早慶レベルも、ソニーなど、韓国人や中国人に勝てない「奇跡的」無能がバレつつある。
塾が地方にも増え、頭の良くないヤツがドーピング(塾通い)して、金と受験テクで東大に入っている。合格点が上がって、本当に頭のいい受験テクを使わずに高3だけで良い点が取れたギフテッド高校生が消えた(社会のどこかに埋もれている)。
失われた20年は、コイツらドーピング塾っ子が急増した世代(50代)が、企業の主力になったせいで、ずっと失われた・・・は続く。台湾人の方が賢くコミュ力も高い。
戦後の高度成長もアニメも音楽も、偏差値に関係ない人が中心。「本当の知性は、知識でなく想像力だ(アインシュタイン)」。
米国の大学は教育の本質をわかっているから、ドーピング中国人を排除し、レジュメや飛び級等で「恣意的に」選ぶ。
東大卒を官僚や政治家やマスコミ(言論自由指数、韓国より低い67位)など、答えのない仕事に就かせるべきでない。
子供の時から友達と遊ばずに塾に行くと、新興宗教の信者そっくりで点数・偏差値が人の価値と考える(欧米にそんな信者はいない)。
同級生を点数で見下すため、人格形成も失敗するようで、モラルもコミュ力も低く、「三流政治」が日本の伝統(東大法学部=三流人材であることを自ら証明)。
海外で通用しない、大人になった暗記小僧は「思考しない」職に就かせるべき。林修氏のような答えのある塾講師でもして、開成や灘などの「奇跡的」無能な高校生を再生産する仕事しかない。
東大が人間性を審査する米国式にすれば、若者は自分が正しいと信じる生き方に時間がさける。若者も欧米人も教育の本質でないと思っている、暗記クイズ王試験の負担が減って、生来の長所を伸ばせる。
子供は減ったのだから、日本は中韓式の科挙を止めて、教育を点数+恣意的審査に変えるべきだ(欧米は大学だけでなく企業も面接で、人間性などで恣意的に採用する。まさか朝日新聞の入社試験みたいに、就職まで暗記クイズ王試験などしない。)。

Όταν οι άνθρωποι δεν έχουν να φάνε σιτηρά, οι πατάτες μπορούν να αποτελέσουν βασικό στοιχείο της διατροφής τους, ώστε να καταφέρουν να διατηρούν τα τρία γεύματα ημερησίως. Οι πατάτες μπορούν κι αυτές να αποτελέσουν παροχή τροφής. Οι γλυκοπατάτες δεν είναι τόσο καλές όσο οι πατάτες, όσον αφορά στην ποιότητα, αλλά, και πάλι, μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν ως βασική τροφή για να διατηρήσουν τα τρία γεύματά τους την ημέρα. Όταν τα σιτηρά δεν είναι ακόμη προς διάθεση, οι άνθρωποι μπορούν να χρησιμοποιήσουν γλυκοπατάτες για να γεμίσουν το στομάχι τους. Το κολοκάσι, το οποίο καταναλώνεται συχνά από τους ανθρώπους του Νότου, μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί με τον ίδιο τρόπο και μπορεί να αποτελέσει, κι αυτό, βασική τροφή. Όταν ο Θεός εκστόμισε τις λέξεις «Γενηθήτω φώς», έγινε φως. Ο Θεός δεν ξεκίνησε κάποιο εγχείρημα. Το φως εμφανίστηκε ως αποτέλεσμα του λόγου Του. Η ύπαρξή του αποδεικνύει την εξουσία και τη δύναμη του Θεού και διακηρύσσει την ύπαρξη του Δημιουργού, και επιβεβαιώνει ξανά και ξανά την ταυτότητα και τη θέση του Δημιουργού. Δεν είναι απροσδιόριστο, ούτε απατηλό, αλλά είναι ένα αληθινό φως, ορατό από τον άνθρωπο. Από τη στιγμή εκείνη και μετά, σ’ αυτόν τον άδειο κόσμο στον οποίο «η δε γη ήτο άμορφος και έρημος· και σκότος επί του προσώπου της αβύσσου», παρήχθη το πρώτο υλικό αγαθό. Λίγο μετά, ο Θεός πρόσταξε να ξεχωρίσει το φως από το σκοτάδι… Όλα άλλαξαν και ολοκληρώθηκαν χάρη στον λόγο του Θεού… Ο Θεός αποκάλεσε αυτό το φως «Μέρα» και το σκοτάδι «Νύχτα». Από τότε, το πρώτο απόγευμα και το πρώτο πρωινό δημιουργήθηκαν στον κόσμο που ο Θεός ήθελε να δημιουργήσει και ο Θεός είπε ότι αυτή ήταν η πρώτη μέρα. I had a solid handful of opportunities to photograph this particular tree during my recent stay in the lowcountry of South Carolina. On this particular evening however, the tree was not my initial target. The adventure began with my mother, also an avid photographer. Previous trips to the lowcountry had netted us each some great photographs of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge from the Mount Pleasant side of the span. As such, we were trying to maximize our short visit by avoiding similar compositions and instead finding new vantages. We decided to walk up onto the bridge and photograph from up top, something neither of us had done before and somewhere both of us had seen neat photographs taken before. Arriving about an hour before sunset, we grabbed our packs and tripods and began the awkward walk up the pedestrian trail to the top of the bridge. Why awkward? Well, here we were, two severely overdressed and loaded down tourists, lugging the kitchen sink up a paved multi-use trail that was packed with bikers, runners and otherwise speedy individuals putting in some evening road work whizzing past us on both sides. The sunset skies were fizzling out and we each pretty much gave the other a look of question, and decided to bail. Down the trail we went, gear back in the car, and into traffic with the navi pointing back to Folly Beach.
Having made it back to the island without too much headache, we decided to head out to the beach to see if we could make something of whatever was left of sunset. Since Folly Park closed before dark, we pulled up to the last public parking area on the west end of the island, paid our fee at the self-pay booth (does anyone really pay at these things?), and began walking the beach. Soon, it was apparent that the skies were going to put on a bit of a show and some reds and oranges began to appear on the western horizon. I had originally thought that I would concentrate on some of the jetties and tidal pools utilizing the blue hour of evening, but I couldn’t help but answer the tug of color in the skies. Ensuring that my mother was okay doing her thing on the beach, I began running towards the tree and tidal pool at the west side of Folly Beach County Park. What seemed so close turned into a real challenge with a forty-plus pound pack and tripod on my back! I had to stop a few times to catch my ragged breath, only to quickly resume my labored sprint towards the colored skies and my hopeful subject. By the time I had reached the tree much of the color had faded from the skies (wish I could say this was the exception and not the norm!). To complicate matters more, I needed to get into the thigh-deep tidal pool in order to close the gap between the tree and I because my wide angle lens wouldn't capture the scene properly from the dry shore. Each step further into the water created ripples and destroyed the reflection, requiring me to actually stand bone still and wait patiently after reaching a close enough vantage. Compositions were obviously limited with this scenario as the tripod legs (and mine) moving around were not optimal for a clean reflection during a time-restricted event like a sky that was quickly burning out. Thus, the result—this particular photograph, one of only four frames I eventually snapped—is actually the product of a salvage mission that started at the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge an hour or so beforehand! Part of me wishes that I had been at Folly Beach County Park earlier in the evening and taken full advantage of the opportunity, but another part of me, perhaps a wilder part, really enjoyed the hunt and the excitement of the process and thus, makes me more appreciative that I got what I did out of the whole ordeal!
More often than not, for me as the photographer, it’s the “stuff” that lies behind a photograph that brings meaning and separating that out to objectively decide whether or not any particular photograph will have impact with an uninvolved viewer is not always as cut and dry as I imagine it will be. Perhaps that's the driving force behind the "stories behind the scenes" that I like to provide with my photographs--a means, however imperfect, for interested viewers to dive even deeper into the frame, into the adventure, into the very places that I have a passion for.
When you're going through a storm, look to the horizon and wait it out; the sun is sure to follow,
and the colors of dawn will shine brighter after the gray.

Free admission for Wildlife Trust members. A small admission fee is payable by non-members. There are several waymarked trails on the reserve (Red trail 5km/3 miles, blue trail 3km/2 miles) No dogs are allowed on the reserve (except assistance dogs). The reserve has toilets and a number of birdwatching hides.
Directions
By car From Barrow in Furness follow signs for Walney Island. Cross Jubilee Bridge onto the Island and follow brown signs left at traffic lights, follow this road for about 1km/0.6 miles then turn left down Carr Lane. Pass Biggar Village and follow the road to the South End Caravan Site. Follow the road for a further kilometre until the reserve is reached.
By bicycle The reserve is 5km/ 3 miles from National Route 72 Walney to Wear.
By public transport Buses run from Barrow in Furness to Biggar.

Overview
South Walney forms the southern tip of a shingle island lying at the end of the Furness Peninsula. During the medieval period it was farmed by the monks of Furness Abbey, whilst during the 19th and 20th centuries salt, sand and gravel were extracted leaving large lagoons and some industrial remains.
What to see
Every spring, large numbers of lesser black backed and herring gulls still return and begin to set up nest territories. Other breeding birds include eider duck, greater black backed gull, shelduck, oystercatcher, mallard, moorhen and coot. Of the 250 bird species recorded, most are passage migrants on their way to or from breeding grounds. These include common species such as wheatear, redstart, willow warbler and gold crest, as well as more unusual species, which may have been blown off their normal migration route. In winter, large numbers of waders and wildfowl feed and roost around the nature reserve both on the gravel pools and the intertidal areas. Vegetated shingle being a highly unusual habitat, and yellow horned poppy, sea campion and biting stonecrop grow on the single beaches.
Small areas of dune grassland survive with pyramidal orchid, Portland spurge, restharrow and wild pansy. The old gravel workings have developed their own communities with striking plants such as viper's bugloss, henbane and alkanet. Saltmarsh occurs in Lighthouse Bay with species such as thrift, glasswort and sea purslane.

Das Verdichtungsverhältnis wurde im Laufe der Entwicklung von Verbrennungsmotoren immer weiter gesteigert.
Die allmähliche Steigerung der Verdichtung lag lange vor allem an der Kraftstoffrezeptur.
Heute sind Oktanzahlen bis 102 ROZ an der Tankstelle verfügbar.
Ältere Motoren haben tendenziell niedrigere Anforderungen an die Kraftstoffqualität, da die Kraftstoffqualität noch nicht so hoch war, als sie entwickelt wurden.
Auch die Gestalt des Brennraums und des Ansaugtrakts trägt zum Oktanzahlbedarf bei.

Moderne Motoren haben Klopfsensoren, die aufkommendes Klopfen erkennen. Sie können den Zündzeitpunkt an die Benzinqualität und an die Motoreigenschaften anpassen.

Beispiel würde eine Oktanzahl von ROZ = 95 (umgangssprachlich: 95 Oktan) eines Benzins bedeuten, dass dessen Klopffestigkeit einem Gemisch aus 95 Vol.-% Isooktan und 5 Vol.-% n-Heptan entspricht.
Iso-oktan ist klopffest und kann stark verdichtet werden, ohne dass es zur Selbstzündung kommt.

There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

Honfleur is a commune in the Calvados department in Normandy en.normandie-tourisme.fr/normandy-tourism-109-2.html in northwestern France. It is located on the southern bank of the estuary of the Seine across from le Havre and very close to the exit of the Pont de Normandie. Its inhabitants are called Honfleurais. It is especially known for its old, beautiful picturesque port, characterized by its houses with slate-covered frontages, painted many times by artists, including in particular Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet and Johan Jongkind, forming the école de Honfleur (Honfleur school) which contributed to the appearance of the Impressionist movement. The Sainte-Catherine church, which has a bell tower separate from the principal building, is the largest church made out of wood in France. The first written record of Honfleur is a reference by Richard III, Duke of Normandy, in 1027. By the middle of the 12th century, the city represented a significant transit point for goods from Rouen to England. Located on the estuary of one of the principal rivers of France with a safe harbour and relatively rich hinterland, Honfleur profited from its strategic position from the start of the Hundred Years' War. The town's defences were strengthened by Charles V in order to protect the estuary of the Seine from attacks from the English. This was supported by the nearby port of Harfleur. However, Honfleur was taken and occupied by the English in 1357 and from 1419 to 1450. When under French control, raiding parties often set out from the port to ransack the English coasts, including partially destroying the town of Sandwich, in Kent, England, in the 1450s. At the end of the Hundred Years' War, Honfleur benefited from the boom in maritime trade until the end of the 18th century. Trade was disturbed during the wars of religion in the 16th century. The port saw the departure of a number of explorers, in particular in 1503 of Binot Paulmierde Gonneville to the coasts of Brazil. In 1506, local man Jean Denis departed for Newfoundland island and the mouth of the Saint Lawrence. An expedition in 1608, organised by Samuel de Champlain, founded the city of Quebec in modern day Canada. After 1608, Honfleur thrived on trade with Canada, the West Indies, the African coasts and the Azores. As a result, the town became one of the five principal ports for the slave trade in France. During this time the rapid growth of the town saw the demolition of its fortifications on the orders of Colbert. The wars of the French revolution and the First Empire, and in particular the continental blockade, caused the ruin of Honfleur. It only partially recovered during the 19th century with the trading of wood from northern Europe. Trade was however limited by the silting up of the entrance to the port and development of the modern port at Le Havre. The port however still functions today. On August 25, 1944, Honfleur was liberated together by the British army - 19th Platoon of the 12th Devon's, 6th Air Landing Brigade, the Belgian army (Brigade Piron) on 25 August 1944.[1] and the Canadian army without any combat. en.normandie-tourisme.fr/articles/honfleur-278-2.html

人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。

ひさびさに5ちゃんねるで頷ける文が出てきたのでピックアップしました。
バブル崩壊後、バブル前までのことなどをひっくるめて、以下に書かれていることはまったく正しい。
どうしてスティーブ・ジョブズのような人が出てこなかったのか。残念でなりません。
仕事だけでなくアート面でもまったく以下の通りだと僕は思っています。
だから、僕はいつも言ってきました。
『日本を出なさい。出てもやはり日本が良ければ戻って来ればいい』

デービッド・アトキンソン氏曰く、「日本の経営者は奇跡的無能」とのこと(近著)。
子供の時から暗記ばかりすると思考力が落ちる研究結果を地でゆく人種。
東大卒、東大に入れなかった早慶レベルも、ソニーなど、韓国人や中国人に勝てない「奇跡的」無能がバレつつある。
塾が地方にも増え、頭の良くないヤツがドーピング(塾通い)して、金と受験テクで東大に入っている。合格点が上がって、本当に頭のいい受験テクを使わずに高3だけで良い点が取れたギフテッド高校生が消えた(社会のどこかに埋もれている)。
失われた20年は、コイツらドーピング塾っ子が急増した世代(50代)が、企業の主力になったせいで、ずっと失われた・・・は続く。台湾人の方が賢くコミュ力も高い。
戦後の高度成長もアニメも音楽も、偏差値に関係ない人が中心。「本当の知性は、知識でなく想像力だ(アインシュタイン)」。
米国の大学は教育の本質をわかっているから、ドーピング中国人を排除し、レジュメや飛び級等で「恣意的に」選ぶ。
東大卒を官僚や政治家やマスコミ(言論自由指数、韓国より低い67位)など、答えのない仕事に就かせるべきでない。
子供の時から友達と遊ばずに塾に行くと、新興宗教の信者そっくりで点数・偏差値が人の価値と考える(欧米にそんな信者はいない)。
同級生を点数で見下すため、人格形成も失敗するようで、モラルもコミュ力も低く、「三流政治」が日本の伝統(東大法学部=三流人材であることを自ら証明)。
海外で通用しない、大人になった暗記小僧は「思考しない」職に就かせるべき。林修氏のような答えのある塾講師でもして、開成や灘などの「奇跡的」無能な高校生を再生産する仕事しかない。
東大が人間性を審査する米国式にすれば、若者は自分が正しいと信じる生き方に時間がさける。若者も欧米人も教育の本質でないと思っている、暗記クイズ王試験の負担が減って、生来の長所を伸ばせる。
子供は減ったのだから、日本は中韓式の科挙を止めて、教育を点数+恣意的審査に変えるべきだ(欧米は大学だけでなく企業も面接で、人間性などで恣意的に採用する。まさか朝日新聞の入社試験みたいに、就職まで暗記クイズ王試験などしない。)。

Dopo aver accettato l’opera della fine dei tempi di Dio Onnipotente, grazie alla lettura delle parole di Dio e all’ascolto dei sermoni, giunsi a comprendere l’importanza del cercare di essere una persona onesta nella propria fede, e che solo diventando una persona di tal fatta era possibile guadagnare la salvezza di Dio. Iniziai, pertanto, a praticare l’onestà nella vita reale. Dopo un po’, scoprii che ero riuscita almeno in parte a entrare in questa disposizione d’animo. Per esempio: mentre pregavo o parlavo con qualcuno, ero capace di dire la verità e le parole mi sgorgavano dal cuore; potevo anche compiere il mio dovere con serietà e, quando rivelavo la corruzione, riuscivo ad aprirmi con altre persone. Per questo motivo, pensavo che essere una persona onesta fosse una cosa abbastanza facile da praticare e per niente ardua come le parole di Dio tendevano a dimostrare: “Molti preferirebbero essere condannati all’inferno piuttosto che parlare e agire onestamente” (“Tre ammonimenti” in La Parola appare nella carne). Solo in un secondo momento riuscii a comprendere attraverso diverse esperienze che non era davvero facile per noi, esseri umani corrotti, essere persone oneste. Le parole di Dio erano assolutamente vere e per nulla esagerate.
