La noche dota a la Mezquita Azul de una magia especial que todavía realza más su belleza. Me senté en un banco y planté el trípode con la cámara, cuando aún era de día —por supuesto, después de tomar un té—, dispuesto a ver cómo lentamente el cielo y los muros de la mezquita comenzaban a cambiar, mientras disfrutaba con las fotos que iba sacando. El sol se retiraba sin prisa, y los colores se transformaban con una delicadeza hipnótica. Poco a poco, empezaron a insinuarse suaves tonos dorados en los minaretes, al ir encendiéndose los focos que preparaban la escena.
Un rato después, el edificio entero resplandecía como un dibujo de luz dorada, recortado con nitidez sobre el cielo azul violáceo del anochecer.
De repente, algo cambió. Los focos dorados se apagaron sin aviso y fueron sustituidos por otros blancos, fríos, casi quirúrgicos. La mezquita se volvió entonces algo distinto: una visión extraña, fantasmal, como si flotara en una dimensión paralela.
No lo dudé un segundo y apreté rápido el disparador. Duró muy poco. Apenas unos segundos. Por suerte, algo más que los 30 segundos que duró la exposición de esta foto. Lo suficiente para atraparla, aunque fuera una sola vez.
Pensé entonces que quizá todo fuese una metáfora de esta ciudad que respira entre dos luces.

At night, the Blue Mosque takes on a special kind of magic that enhances its beauty even more. I sat on a bench and set up the tripod with my camera — it was still daylight, of course, and only after having a tea — ready to watch as the sky and the mosque's walls slowly began to change. I enjoyed every shot I took while the light shifted gently around me. The sun withdrew slowly, and the colors transformed with hypnotic delicacy. Bit by bit, soft golden tones began to appear on the minarets, as the lights that set the scene started to come on.
A little while later, the entire building shone like a sketch drawn in golden light, sharply outlined against the violet-blue sky of dusk.
Then suddenly, something changed. The golden lights went off without warning, replaced by others — white, cold, almost surgical. The mosque became something else entirely: a strange, ghostly vision, as if it were floating in a parallel dimension.
I didn’t hesitate — I pressed the shutter quickly. It lasted only a few seconds. Fortunately, just a bit longer than the 30 seconds the photo exposure required. Long enough to capture it, just once.
And I thought, maybe it was all a metaphor — of a city that breathes between two lights.
Dios Todopoderoso dice: “Cuando Dios está airado con el hombre, espera que este sea capaz de arrepentirse sinceramente, y espera ver el arrepentimiento verdadero del hombre, en cuyo caso continuará concediendo entonces con liberalidad Su misericordia y tolerancia al hombre. Él exige el arrepentimiento sincero de uno. Siempre y cuando las personas se vuelvan de sus caminos malvados y abandonen la violencia de sus manos, Dios cambiará Su opinión y Su actitud hacia ellos”.
“Este ‘camino de maldad’ no se refiere a un puñado de actos malvados, sino a la fuente de mal detrás del comportamiento de las personas. ‘Arrepentirse de sus caminos de maldad’ significa que aquellos en cuestión nunca cometerían estos actos de nuevo. En otras palabras, nunca se comportarán de esa forma malvada de nuevo; el método, la fuente, el propósito, la intención y el principio de sus acciones han cambiado todos; nunca más usarán esos métodos y principios para traer disfrute y felicidad a sus corazones. El ‘despojarse’ en ‘despojarse de toda la violencia de sus manos’ significa deponer o desechar, romper totalmente con el pasado y nunca volver atrás. Cuando el pueblo de Nínive abandonó la violencia que había en sus manos, esto demostraba y representaba su arrepentimiento verdadero. Dios observa los exteriores de las personas así como sus corazones. Cuando Dios observó el arrepentimiento verdadero en los corazones de los ninivitas sin dudarlo y también observó que habían dejado sus caminos malvados y abandonado la violencia que había en sus manos, cambió de opinión. Es decir, la conducta y el comportamiento de estas personas, sus diversas formas de hacer las cosas, así como su verdadera confesión y arrepentimiento de los pecados en su corazón, provocaron que Dios cambiase Su opinión, Sus intenciones, se retractase de Su decisión y no los castigase ni destruyese. Así pues, las personas de Nínive consiguieron un final diferente. Redimieron sus propias vidas y al mismo tiempo obtuvieron la misericordia y tolerancia de Dios, punto en el cual Dios también retrajo Su ira”.

Chapter III: The Saboteur's Plan

When Richard materialized in the bustling streets of New York in the year 2025, he immediately felt a disturbance in the temporal fabric. People were passing by in a hurry, unaware of the imminent danger lurking in the shadows. Following the coordinates provided by the Ministry, Richard and his companion headed towards the vicinity of a nuclear plant. As they approached, they saw a suspicious figure hunched over a device of peculiar appearance typing rapidly on it. With stealth and precision, Richard approached the saboteur, while his pulse throbbed with electric intensity. Suddenly, footsteps were heard resonating beside him, and Agent Pablo Torres emerged from the shadows, his weapon drawn and ready.
"We have you now," proclaimed Pablo with firm and authoritative voice.
The saboteur leaped and started running as Richard and Pablo chased after him. At a certain point, he abruptly stopped and with a cold smile on his face, rummaged in a pocket and pulled out a small device that he activated with a click. With a dazzling flash of light, a temporal distortion opened before him. Before Richard or Pablo could react, the saboteur disappeared into the temporal vortex, leaving the agents astonished and without clues to follow his trail.
Back at the Ministry, Richard and Pablo faced the harsh reality of their failure. The saboteur had escaped, leaving behind more questions than answers. As they discussed what had happened, Richard noticed that Pablo was out of breath, with a hand on his chest.
"Are you okay, Pablo?" asked Richard, concerned.
Pablo nodded with a weak smile. "I don't think I'll be able to join you in the next pursuit," he admitted.
Richard furrowed his brow, visibly worried about his friend's health. Later, after leaving Pablo in the infirmary, Richard reflected with amazement: "It's the first time we've seen interdimensional portals open wherever one desires. This complicates things a lot."
With time running out, they knew they had to redouble their efforts to stop the saboteur's sinister plans and protect the timeline at all costs.
