The theme for “Smile on Saturday” for the 6th of July is “tasty texture”, where the image used must be a photo in which the texture of the food is clearly visible. I must have known this theme was coming, as in May, my partner came home with some home made Italian biscuits from one of the people he is a care giver for. Now, my partner has a very sweet tooth (unlike me) and biscuits don’t last long in our household. He was given about ten, and I just managed to snatch one away, which I put aside, before the rest were hoovered up and eaten in one sitting. A few days later, I decided to try my one salvaged biscuit treat with a nice cup of tea. It was delicious! As I put the partially eaten biscuit down on my Royal Albert “April Showers” square cake plate, I noticed how beautifully textural the biscuit’s innards was, so I decided to photograph it. You know me! Always have your camera handy. You never know when the photograph you took may come in handy: like now! I hope that you like my choice of image for this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile!
Easy shot today, saw my bowl of cuties on the table and plopped it down in the early morning light. Tada. Now off to Jazzercise. Happy Sunday!
No matter how large or how small a given space may be there’s always room for colors to share that space. A tree has so much space to share with lots of vivid colors. Look at the colors or shades that Autumn provides us at its peak. A Maple tree is a good example. On a smaller scale look at the most colorful fish in an aquarium. One fish can house several colors within its body. Though many flowers appear to represent basically one color such as a Red Rose, a Yellow Rose etc., this rose caught my attention in that there are no less than two beautiful “Colors Sharing Space” Nature continues to amaze and impress us with miracles (plants, animals and people) that come in many colors yet sharing small spaces. Thanks for viewing my work.
How Stean Gorge is a natural wonder. A small tight gorge cutting its way through the limestone with caves, narrow paths and foot bridges.
The Falkirk Wheel, Falkirk, Scotland. This remarkable contrivance allows canal traffic to move between 2 very different levels without the use of conventional locks. The old, 11 lock system, which took nearly a day to traverse, was closed in the 1930s and this new version was opened in 2002. The top and bottom cradles each hold a boat and the water it floats in. The counter-balancing effect then uses very little electricity to turn the wheel allowing each cradle to move to/from the bottom to the other end.
How’s the new year so far? Let me start the day with a view of the one of the most elegant buildings in the city! What do you think?

How can something so big arise from water, light and air? It is mindblowing, to see such a inconceivable power of nature. This being here is older than centuries, it will be there long time after we are gone. Water, light and air, that's all what's needed. And luck. A lot of luck...

What wizards would do is to enchant the camera. In other words, they would make your old equipment 'upload' new and magical powers. And this is indeed what you need. Don't think that more processing power and more autofocus technology will do the trick. The magic of photography is of a different quality altogether. Fuji X-E2 plus Mitakon Speedmaster at F8.
