J. Parker Lamb was "The Man" when it came to shooting the GM&O in the South. In Meridian, Mississippi, GP30 516 and an early FA1 711 pose for a shot in 1966. Soon, the trucks from the 711 would appear under a new GM&O GP35. J. Parker Lamb Photo. GM&OHS Collection.

Street photography from London, England.
I had little spare time for any street shots while in London on assignment but I caught this at the back of The Waldorf Hilton near Covent Garden in February 2019. Oh, I wasn't staying there, I had to 'settle' for a 4* hotel instead. Enjoy!

I've been looking at some tutorials on how to make the moon look more colourful in photos. This is a single frame, not stacked, taken just now 25th Feb 2021.
How privileged I felt to be welcomed back to my favourite beach. She knew... oh she knew alright how much I loved seeing her again.. I do believe she loved seeing me too and this was her welcome to me and yes I am only a visitor but I love her so much and I miss her......
My grandad was a fireman on the trains and him and grandma spent much of their time in St Ives, maybe that how come I feel a spiritual relationship with this place...you never know ;)

The Falkirk Wheel, Falkirk, Scotland. This remarkable contrivance allows canal traffic to move between 2 very different levels without the use of conventional locks. The old, 11 lock system, which took nearly a day to traverse, was closed in the 1930s and this new version was opened in 2002. The top and bottom cradles each hold a boat and the water it floats in. The counter-balancing effect then uses very little electricity to turn the wheel allowing each cradle to move to/from the bottom to the other end.
fun how the perception of lines work, just in a short distant the full frame of planks merges to a dot, but expand and it goes on.

The human heart...
Sometimes it grows so heavy that it feels it can no longer carry its own weight.
In those moments, I wish I were the sky...
A sky that holds the light,
the dark clouds,
and even a rainbow that appears only for a fleeting moment.
Perhaps that is the sky's secret:
even in its darkest hours,
it always leaves a place for light.
Perhaps we are the same...
We smile in the depths of sorrow.
We become someone else's refuge, even when we long for one ourselves.
And in the midst of despair, we still try to bring a little light into another soul with our words.
Yet one question always lingers in my mind...
How much weight can the sky carry?
And what if one day... even the sky grows weary?
