Me, 'Yes, erm, that's very nice. But you might wanna consider wiping your nose first.'

Wolf, 'Nonsense, I look great!'

Me, 'Uh ... okay! If you say so.'

It is so adorable how the chicks ride on the parents back.

We've been trying to catch this location in the "right mood" so to speak for some time. On this occasion we expected a more vibrant sunset and though that didn't happen I still like the subtlety of the colours and the way the cloud is almost an inverse of the shape of the hill.

Early Spring in the Lake District can be a challenge with very changeable weather. As I neared the top of the Coppermine Valley in grey sleety rain the clouds opened revealing Little How and Great How capped in a smattering of snow high above Levers Water. The waterfalls on the left are the cascades of the Levers falling down to the Coppermine Valley and eventually Coniston a couple of miles further down.

I continued up to the Lake before heading up to Coniston Old Man. I did manage a few shots of Levers Water, where the water levels were pretty low after the dry spell of weather we have had in March, before the weather really closed in and I eventually departed in search of better conditions in the Yorkshire Dales.

Nothing new. Nothing Original. Just a classic Lakeland vista.

On a stroll around the picturesque Tarn Hows with my partner and pooch yesterday, I couldn't resist getting my camera out at this iconic viewpoint. The autumnal colours were just glorious, enhanced by the contrasting sunlight and moody clouds. I captured 3 separate images and stitched them together to show the entirety of the tarn.

The tarn itself was once 3 separate bodies of water which, with the construction of a dam, were combined to create one larger artificial upland lake. It was once owned by Beatrix Potter, but is now managed by the National Trust. Although a popular tourist destination, the area still manages to retain a certain feeling of wildness, helped by the rugged and impressive surroundings.

Glen Etive has to be one of the most gorgeous parts of Scotland, from rugged beauty and river rapids to the animals that roam wild here the whole place is just heaven on earth.

How privileged I felt to be welcomed back to my favourite beach. She knew... oh she knew alright how much I loved seeing her again.. I do believe she loved seeing me too and this was her welcome to me and yes I am only a visitor but I love her so much and I miss her......

My grandad was a fireman on the trains and him and grandma spent much of their time in St Ives, maybe that how come I feel a spiritual relationship with this place...you never know ;)

Carnival of Venice, Italy

When you're weary

Feeling small

When tears are in your eyes

I'll dry them all

I'm on your side

Oh, when times get rough

And friends just can't be found

Like a bridge over troubled water

I will lay me down

Like a bridge over troubled water

I will lay me down

When you're down and out

When you're on the street

When evening falls so hard

I will comfort you

I'll take your part

Oh, when darkness comes

And pain is all around

Like a bridge over troubled water

I will lay me down

Like a bridge over troubled water

I will lay me down

Sail on silver girl

Sail on by

Your time has come to shine

All your dreams are on their way

See how they shine

Oh, if you need a friend

I'm sailing right behind

Like a bridge over troubled water

I will ease your mind

Like a bridge over troubled water

I will ease your mind

The theme for “Smile on Saturday” for the 6th of July is “tasty texture”, where the image used must be a photo in which the texture of the food is clearly visible. I must have known this theme was coming, as in May, my partner came home with some home made Italian biscuits from one of the people he is a care giver for. Now, my partner has a very sweet tooth (unlike me) and biscuits don’t last long in our household. He was given about ten, and I just managed to snatch one away, which I put aside, before the rest were hoovered up and eaten in one sitting. A few days later, I decided to try my one salvaged biscuit treat with a nice cup of tea. It was delicious! As I put the partially eaten biscuit down on my Royal Albert “April Showers” square cake plate, I noticed how beautifully textural the biscuit’s innards was, so I decided to photograph it. You know me! Always have your camera handy. You never know when the photograph you took may come in handy: like now! I hope that you like my choice of image for this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile!
