The Lincoln Memorial, in Washington DC, sits at the West end of the National Mall. It was constructed from 1914-1922 as a memorial to the 16th President.

Well what a pleasant surprise.....
If I am honest I was a little cynical regards us recieving one new bus for 36 to replace our old lease expires 3613. My feelings were helped by the bus going direct to Burnley for a period on loan before arriving at Harrogate... ( I did wonder if in the end she may have stayed at Burnley for use on the X43 )
But... Finally she arrived.
I had two wait a while before I got to drive her and was sceptical about what she would be like..
WELL..
What an absolutlely fantastic bus... All the annoying little things that are part of driving the earlier batch of B7 Gemini's that we have appear to have been addressed and so along with a more powerful engine we have almost the PERFECT tool for the job ( albeit I know it is early days ).
She is comfortable, ergonomically perfect, solid, strong, holds the road with just the right amount of feedback.... she brakes really well ( a sore point on late Volvo B7's) accelerates smoothly and rapidly ( if required ) and everything is where you want it to be..... It is as if she has been designed and built with driver,passenger and operator in mind.....
She even has a proper next stop Bell !!!!!

Near Phra Pokklao Bridge in Bangkok, there were several local residents making a day’s wages near their abodes by separating stems/stalks (pedicels!) from the bases (exocarp!) of these chili peppers. All told there were probably ten people, including a few working in teams but this gent was making a go of it solo.
Sign spotted 10/19/20, in a field along US-40, in SW Pennsylvania, an area hotly contested in the upcoming election, and plastered with all manner of political signs.
Here we have a private citizen, without "spin doctors", focus groups, political action committees, or the slightest hint of foreign collusion, expressing his views on the current political situation.
His message is clear, without guile or deception, and without regard to anyone being "offended", just as the Founding Fathers intended.
It might be wise, in these times of deep and bitter national divisions, partisan fanaticism, vicious slanders, and group hypersensitivities, to remember that this kind of frank, open, and fearless self expression is the very heart of our democracy.
Yeah, and it is also humor that we can all use, right now.
I've been feeling rather fake lately. A combination of school, stress, idle gossip, phony friends, the like.
