Hermes, as befits a god, has his own sunbeams which follow him. (this boat bears the name Hermes, build in 1917)
Helios 44M-7 at F11. I have addressed the matter of the colour of dreams in a previous image/posting. Does Hermes (here, a plaster cast replica of the head of the Olympian Hermes) dream of the colours he has lost? The Greek statues of antiquity were frequently painted in radiant colours. They were much more life-like than the classicists of the 18th and 19th centuries made us believe. This plaster cast actually had been painted over by a generation of fine arts students who had used it as a model. Right then! What colour should go first?
The Olympian Hermes by Praxiteles (plaster cast of the head) reflecting the January sun light and thus transforming a Hertfordshire garden.

Taken with the Mitakon Speedmaster 35mm at F0.95, four LED lights (ignore the Exif data). This is a close-up using the widest aperture possible. I am quite happy with the result and believe that the facial expression of the Olympian Hermes (plaster cast) is nicely captured this way.

The original was found at the Villa Papyri in Herculaneum in 1758 and is preserved at the National Archeological Museum in Naples.
