This little series was taken at daybreak on the Hilo side..
There is a lot of humidity in the air here and all those particles of moisture factor in on fragmenting the sun's rays..changing the color of the sky/air/light..around you!
That's why it's so easy to get all these ever changing amazing light shows.. especially of course when the sun is low in the sky....!

Hawaii, Kona. Shave ice sculpted into the shape of a volcano. Root beer and cherry flavors. Delicious!
The people at Ululani's sculpted and colored this ball of ice at my request even thought it took a couple of extra minutes of their time. They were very friendly!
