I have been travelling a ton the last few months until now. First few days back I hit the theatre with my boys who have been waiting to see the latest Star Wars movie - Solo...we were the only ones in the place. Snapped this pic with my phone of Han and 196-year-old Wookie named Chewbacca - Chewie looks good for 196!

The land where Star Wars lives all year round!

Little known fact: Jabba the Hutt was unhappy with the condition of his prized possession – Han Solo in carbonite – and ordered bounty hunters Boba Fett, Bossk and IG-88 to make some repairs. You could call it a galactic recall, if you will.

This was photographed exclusively for my "Small Scenes from a Big Galaxy" book. I will post more of these here shortly.

Meet Nando Pastryssian (the former occupant of Outpost Alpha) and his K3 mechanoid, K3-33.

And yes! Of course Benny won Outpost Alpha playing cards against him...

If you are both a Star Wars and a Calvin & Hobbes fan like me, you should definitely have a look at Brian Kesinger's great works (www.instagram.com/briankesinger/). It was love at first sight for me!

So I decided to recreate one of my favorite cartoons with LEGO. This is the result. Hope you like it, but all credit goes to its author... it's absolutely briliant, imho!

Could be the start of a new series... "The adventures of little Kylo", but first, I have to finish what I started!! ;-)

Happy Star Wars Day everyone!

Quick(ish) and set-up.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and hope 2016 brings some good things to everyone.

Side Note : I've been quiet lately, as it was a fairly traumatic end to 2015 (being made redundant, finding/getting new job, then the Cumbrian floods hitting us). So I'm hoping 2016 things will settle down.

Chapter 1: The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian travels to a desert planet Arvala-7, and meets a native named Kuiil who wants to be rid of the criminals and mercenaries who now inhabit the area. Kuiil teaches the Mandalorian to ride a Blurrg, as there are no land speed vehicles to traverse the area, and sends him to where his bounty is located. Upon reaching the hideout, the Mandalorian grudgingly teams up with bounty droid IG-11. They manage to clear the entire facility of its Nikto guards and discover that the bounty is a green, big-eared child-like creature. IG-11 plans to kill it, but the Mandalorian blasts the droid to protect the baby and bounty.

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate. Hope your family get togethers are less awkward than this scene.

A bit of fun - trying to re-create a classic SW cast shot in 1:6... though Leia's wearing the wrong dress.

An older shot reframed with my now preferred aspect ratio.

Loving these guys :) Finally, to have a proper Chewie and a damned fine Han in 1:6 scale... things have come on in leaps and bounds (unfortunately including the price, but I didn't need *both* kidneys) since my first 12" Han & Chewbacca, the original Palitoy/Kenner versions, way back when.

Heck, I'm giggling like a schoolgirl each time I play with these new chaps :D

Bounty hunters, IG-88 and Boba Fett we're having a slightly off putting conversation in the alley of Mos Eisley. I was witnessing all this behind the garbage cans. They had a hard times to decide, which one will deliver carbonized Han Solo to Jabba The Hutt or Darth Vader.

For a photographer, this was a fantastic moment!

At first, I thought this session went badly wrong and I pretty much abandoned it. Then I've made a new setup, which gave better results, when it comes to lighting, but that's about it. Later, I've opened the stack from the first session and for some reason, saw a beauty of this darkness, with the two bounty hunters fighting about the grand prize, like a dogs in the alley.

Han Solo continues his travel by his two feets. Tauntaun is left far behind and mountains were getting bigger than with the Snowtrooper awhile back.

This is a continuation to photograph titled as the Smallest Footprints.

I love watching the real trilogy. I messed up years ago and passed it up on dvd. Glad I came across it again to finally pick it up.

Han Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi we're having a fun times on the Mos Eisley's Cantina. Unfortunately, it's a dangerous place for a newbies like us, but we do all know that these two have been here before. Greedo is still lurking in the shadows, waiting like a snake...

I can't help it, but I'm finding myself playing with old photo sessions, instead of taking new pics. This is yet another new edit of the old scene, which we're titled as "We're Doomed!" from 2014. It has all the same key elements as it's predecessor, but in my opinion, the actual moment differs a bit. It is a kind of fascinating to compare these two now, as they both are from different era's.

Boba Fett knows his business. His plan is to hijack the carbonized Han Solo from the IG-88, while he is in hibernation mode. As it sounds unbelievable, all droids are like that in this galaxy, they need to rest, too. And yes, they do see dreams, dreams of a new DAS-430 Neural Inhibitor.

This is quite a simple set-up that were first marked as rejected. A few weeks ago, I'd opened the file again and saw it's misty and mysterious feel. Unfortunately, I'll have to let you know, this isn't not quite yet the last scene with the Boba. In fact, I have couple of more, which will hopefully see the daylight some other day.

This is an artistic version of a portrait of Han Solo. This particular frame came as a bonus from the session with Han, Bossk and Boba Fett. In case you're wondering, this is pretty much all in-camera. All I did is that I tweaked the coloring from the raw-file as it usually done, when you're dealing with material straight from the camera sensor. The 'effect' you'll see here were real.

What I personally like in this frame is, it's peaceful moment, although Han is carrying his DL-44 heave blaster pistol. Also, I dig the mix of photography and a painting-like-feel. I have always thought, I need a brush and canvas to achieve this kind of piece, I've never thought I've could make it happen with my camera.

It's a time for another tale from the pirate city, Mos Eisley. Obi-Wan just got in, while Luke we're already a hand in the air waving for the bartender, Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes played their theme song on a repeat. It's a good song but after you heard it something like two hundred times, your ears starts to bleed blood. Is there something suspicious about to happen in next few minutes, cause it's Greedo, who is pushing from the side towards Luke and Obi Wan! "Are we're doomed?!" shouts C-3PO! Oh no, will there be a battle between this trio? I think Luke has his eyes on Greedo. And I'm ready with my camera. All I need is to do is check the batteries. And decide whether there will be a sequel for this someday!

For now, I'm probably going to continue to photograph this set for awhile and have just fun with it. This time I don't have a plans to show you what happened next. Maybe I'll do that in the future!

Just after closing time of the Cantina and when all the fun was left behind, Han and Greedo started to negotiate about the deal of the lifetime. Fortunately, the guardian angel is with Han to ensure that no surprises can happen.

Ice and snow is there. It means it's cold as it could be. That's Hoth. You can't stand like that for not doing anything, you must move to keep you warm. Han Solo is asking help on the way to Echo Base from the two Rebel officers near the North Ridge.

- "There's enough daylight to get yourself into that Echo Base, if you just follow the directions you're given!" replied the one in the middle to Han.

…cause for now, I don't have any other proves than this photo. The bullet bites Greedo… and he's about to fall off. Oh my. What will happen next…? Only time will tell.

Title is pretty classic. Had to do it. In fact, I shot similar scene like this two or three weeks ago. I didn't upload the photo here and since then this scene has been bouncing on and off in my head. Today, I decided to re-shoot it to make it stand a little better. Don't get me wrong… the first one was/is really good, too, but I just prefer this new one I shot today. And fresh is always good, right?

Here's Han Solo and Princess Leia in Endor outfit featuring two Endor Rebel Troopers.

I photographed this at the beginning of the year, exactly on the first day of the year. For all these months, I have dealt this as a color image, but for some reason it has not caught on. But today, when I decided to try a black and white version, it started to speak to me. I'm just wondering where the heck is Chewbacca because he should be here, too... oh, the wonders of my photography!

Han hoped the Imperials would fall for the same old song and dance.

Han and Chewie have spotted a potential threat to Echo Base which must be checked out. Sounds like a job for a mini-rig...

The weather was crystal clear as Han and I were hangin' out a few days ago. Obviously, I was there with my camera and took this photo of Han watching the horizon. He had no clue that he was photographed.

And again, Han Solo has been taken to the Carbon-Freezing Chamber and frozen in a block of solid carbonite. This time, Ugnaught (aka Erk Zallis) has strictly followed to the instructions by Boba Fett. He is already waiting for trophy to be collected.

"He's worth a lot to me." Boba Fett said.

Ugnaught is making last adjustments for a system that keeps it's passenger alive.

"Did you put it in auto-mode?" He asked from Ugnaught.

Ugnaught growled something in response, I didn't had a chance to hear it, as I was witnessing this from a distance.
