Finally I completed building all 3 of my Hoth Echo Base MOCs :D! This Hangar Bay fits every LEGO-official Snowspeeder in minifig-scale, as well as every minifig-scale Snowspeeder MOC out there!

This is a project I’ve been gradually modifying since spring 2014: a full-size replica of Han Solo’s iconic weapon, rigged up with a small microcontroller programmed by Arduino to play sound effects and to make the muzzle flash blink! Making this project was rather difficult to the say the least, and I frequently ran into errors with the LEGO mechanics, the Arduino programming, the sound box, and the battery power — but nonetheless, I’ve succeeded in making custom toy function. Pulling the trigger makes the gun’s hammer and firing pin (with rubber bands) strike a momentary pushbutton, which is wired to the circuit board to pulse the microcontroller’s sequence of blinking an LED and playing a PCM sound clip of Han Solo’s gun firing. The individual sound effect was extracted by me directly from the scene in Episode IV when Han correctly shoots Greedo first!
Microcontroller: ATmega328P-PU, coded with an Arduino Uno
Power: 2 AAA batteries (3 volts DC)
This image shows the sliding Blast Door-function which let you access the Command Center inside Echo Base where all operations where overseen and General Rieekan as well as Princess Leia coordinated the fight against the Empire from during the Battle of Hoth.
The MOC consists of 1,559 pieces.

Took this pictures a couple of days ago, not normally a huge Star Wars fan but I loved hubby's new Han Solo with Taun Taun pop so I took advantage of the snow and grabbed a quick picture.

Another day, another update. What's left to do is pretty easily accounted for at this point - The interior, the exterior shells, and the details around the perimeter and in the ports on the mandibles. Like my last rendition, this one depicts the scene where Luke inquires about the flashing on Han's dashboard as they blast their way out of Mos Eisley. The cockpit is a complete rebuild from before, but the minifigs are copy pasted from the old design. Hopefully I'm on the final stretch of this thing - Thanks to those of you who have been following this progress! I hope it's been neat to watch!
Edit: So I'm making a bit of an odd choice with the engines. The Original A New Hope 5 foot model didn't have a grill over the light - it was a solid pale blue, almost white (and on film it's basically white) strip of light. So that's how I'm going to replicate the engines - it's going to be less interesting, for sure, but it's going to be closer to A New Hope, which of course is my goal.
