Original charcoal drawing of a gumball machine drawn on 8X10 black charcoal paper

I had a nice day, so I decided to take myself out for Mexican food to celebrate.

(Side note: I also usually take myself out for a nice dinner when I've had a shitty day, and when the day has been so mediocre that I can't think of anything to talk about for it, and this is a problem)

Since Rose has been visiting a lot lately, I've had to work on getting into a mindset where I don't accidentally end up using her as my picture of the day every single day. So, you get to look at the empty gumball machine in Chimichanga's Mexican Restaurant instead of a pretty redhead. You're welcome.

sorry it's so dark, I have no lamps or lights in most of my rooms... =(

Cringe-inducing photo (in my opinion): huge gumballs (regardless of freshness) make my teeth hurt just by looking at them; throw in the name "cotton candy" and you've got a trip to the dentist!

Today is Day 200 of my 365 Days of Clones series. Just a fun shot to celebrate!

I had been waiting for Day 200 to arrive to create this shot, but while I was waiting EJS93 created something similar. I would be amiss if I did not mention her creation. Please go check it out!

Enjoy!

This is Boba’s Alternative Version for one of my daily shots of 365 Days of Clones.

After years of freelance work to "pay the bills", I've decided to go back to university. That's right! I'm going for a MPS in Art Therapy. I'm shooting for Pratt Institute. For more information on the program: www.pratt.edu/creative_arts_therapy

My concentration will be on children. More specifically, those most in need. Those who've suffered the most terribly ---> in other words, the socio & economically disadvantaged, those sexually, emotionally and/or physically abused, the neglected & the abandoned children, as well as children diagnosed with Autism.

BUT, since the economy's in such a pickle, cash is short & transitioning into the world of non-profit (from an art's background) has proved more difficult than anticipated, I applied to AmeriCorps. Some benefits include: a living stipend, a relocation allowance, an end-of-year Education Award, health insurance & more.

Wishing to work specifically with First People's, I applied & have been accepted to work in the national offices of the National Society for American Indian Elderly (NSAIE), in phoenix, AZ. Among other things, I'll be working on an Elder Heritage Preservation Project. Time Period: July '09 - Julyt '10. Now, if I could just get this room rented out in the loft! For more information on NSAIE, visit them here: www.nsaie.org/ . For more information on AmeriCorps, check them out here: www.nsaie.org/americorps.htm

Let me know what you think --->

Upon completion of the AmeriCorps program, my intentions are to return to NYC to get started on earning that Master's in Art Therapy. In the meantime, I MUST FIRST take 19 additional undergraduate courses which will qualify my eligibility to apply. I WILL get in!

I firmly believe that together we CAN make a difference.

Thanks, in advance!

Fish bowl made from a vintage gumball machine. This is such a simple and inexpensive project. It took about 30 minutes to make, and cost about $40. I have posted the how-to directions on my website, Addicted 2 Decorating. (Google it, or see the link on my profile page.

Room in the dollhouse, up in the attic.

Don'T think you can see it much but I recovered the beds in the same fabric as is on the ceiling and the tablecloth. The house inside it is 1:144!

At Work - Gumball machine, drinking fountain, and a wheelchair - Klamath Family Practice Center, Klamath Falls, Oregon.

When I was a kid I loved these machines, as the gumballs sold here, were the very best for bubblegum bubbles. Unfortunately my parents neither liked bubblegum nor these vending machines...

Though chewing gum is still popular, these vending machines are only rarely seen meanwhile. They should be on the "Red List of Threatened Dream Machines", in case this list does exist already.

Another weird and wonderfull request for a girl that just loves gumball machines lol

A special commission where the customer provided the miniature gumball machine.

Ill be in the Queen West Art Crawl Show this September and in addition to my cafe drawings, I also will be showing/selling these types of drawings which will be at a lower price point. This is the first in a series of drawings that will be drawn on 10x15 inch sheets and vignette based.

I'm not too sure if watercolour was the appropriate medium for this drawing...maybe it would have been better in gouache.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

This vending machine is located near the entrance of a funeral parlor. After a long marketing research the chewing gum company opted for this place. I have no idea why.

Ragged gumball machine, filled with kinder surprise eggs, mounted on a rotten brick wall. The text on the label promises a big surprise.

Back in June, when I uploaded this photo, I had an idea for a series.. of pictures of gumball machines.

Probably because I have this 'fear' they won't be around anymore in, say, ten years.

I've meanwhile taken a couple of pictures of gumball machines, so yeah.. this idea has already turned into a little project of mine.. ('A series was born'..)

Belle is a village in the Lippe region that meanwhile is incorporated into the town of Horn-Bad Meinberg.

But the village still has this vending machine, offering bubblegum to the kids.
