This is the Guild Hall in Derby, taken in the evening. It is also known locally as the 'market place' and was built in 1828.
I hope to return soon and get a few more shots in different light and from different angles. This particular image is actually 3 shots taken in 'landscape orientation', starting from the ground and finishing with the sky, then magically sewn together in Lr and corrected for converging lines in Ps. The film simulation is Acros with a red filter.

A very similar shot I posted last year, just slightly tighter framed and a few steps to the right allowing a space between the building on the left and the guild tower.
The Lord Leycester Hospital (often known simply as the Lord Leycester) is one of the best preserved examples of medieval courtyard architecture in England and is a charity supporting ex-servicemen. It is located next to the West Gate, on High Street. The Hospital is a prominent and internationally famous feature of Warwick. For almost 900 years buildings have been erected and civic activity has taken place on the site, starting with the chapel built in 1126. The site was donated by the 12th Earl of Warwick in the 14th century to the United Guild of the Holy Trinity and St George. The Guild Hall, Great Hall and Master's House were constructed in the late 15th century. Over the centuries, the ancient buildings and 500 year old gardens have been admired by many famous visitors such as Charles Dickens and Oscar Wilde, by Kings and Queens, such as King George V and the Queen Mother and ordinary travellers from around the world.
(Closed to the public until the summer of 2023 for restoration.)
A stone and wood watchtower stands guard over the road into Ambarvale in southern Mitgardia. The stands of birch that sound the tower are golden yellow in the late autumn sun. Soon winter will arrive and the road is busy with people preparing for the first snow.
Built for the tower category of Guild's of Historica's anniversary challenge. I've been wanting to return to some castle builds for some time and with a tower category this seemed the perfect opportunity! Influenced heavily by Isaac Snyder's Riften Watchtower.
The Xiqin Guild Hall in Zigong, Sichuan, China, was built by wealthy Shanxi salt merchants in 1736. Today it is the Salt Industry History Museum.
Here is the final installment in my series of prizes for the Guild Evolution category of the 2024 Summer Joust
The settlement’s new dragon comrades gained them quite the reputation in the coming years. Intelligent and loyal, they were well suited to working together with the cartographers, hunters and trackers of the settlement. Together they could defeat even the most bloodthirsty of beasts that sometimes ventured out of Alnya’s deep forest, quickly deliver important messages, or find missing people. Their services were in high demand and earned them many generous rewards. And so an Adventurer’s Guild was formed where their many unique talents could be put to use solving problems others couldn’t. A large fortress was built with harbor, town, and farms springing up around it to house and supply the increasing number of recruits who came from afar to try and prove their mettle and gain admission.

The TAGOL Rhythm and Hues show was last night in Lockport. Amazing experience and incredible people. All of the people in the Guild, Ed the President and Larry the owner of the Gallery are all absolutely fantastic. It was just phenomenal and I feel so fortunate to have been a part of it.
Part of the show included the introduction of kids into the program. They were mostly family members of guild members and ranged in age from 4 through 18. It was wonderful to see them at the show and to see their art framed and on the wall.
We actually bought a piece from an 11 year old girl named Julia. It was a wonderful marker and pencil drawing with a unique flat over the shoulder perspective of Charlie Brown and Snoopy sitting on the dock overlooking a lake. It was simple, elegant and beautiful. It turns out that the beautiful young girl was actually somewhat of an introvert that spends a good deal of her time alone in her room drawing. To sell her piece was a huge deal to her and she wore a smile from ear to ear. They way her dad spoke and acted provided insight into how moved they all were and how important this was for her and for them. It was an incredibly real and human and touching moment. It was a moment that you don't get many opportunities in life to be a part of something like that. It was an honor and a privilege and it was one of those moments that impacted my life. So, Julia, thank you as well for that.
Super Sunday to you my friend. Be well.

In the sun's soft embrace, a leaf's farewell,
Gilded whispers of autumn's tale to tell.
Wounded and ablaze, it dances in grace,
Nature's farewell song, a golden embrace
