Growing up to a bigger bigleaf maple from the forest floor. This maple tree has the largest leaves of any American maple. It's prolific in the Pacific Northwest there its slender trunk supports a huge, spreading crown, typically laden with hanging clubmoss.
Native pines often grow with two main trunks, here the Milky Way rises from the divide! On Moralana Scenic Drive north of Hawker, SA, on a clear cool and calm night. Two flash units and the torch for lighting. 4 shot vertical panorama stitched and edited in Photoshop.
