The chaos of the forest: Birth, growth, death, resurrection. Continuous morphing of energy into matter and back again, on timescales that are hard for us to grok. All weather, all conditions, through all time. Sunlight becomes wood, wood becomes mulch, mulch becomes dirt. From scales massive to micro, change is continous, all of the time. Massive things grow, volcannically or glacially or organically, and then they break. Break up into smaller things, then smaller again. Life and death co-exist in the wilderness, co-dependent. Yin-Yang. Earth consumes itself to grow itself.

based on a real life photo. it is similar to me but not exactly. I have light wavy red hair and a lot of it. It is shoulder length. I have crow's feet and a few other lines.

The Doors

This is Lantern girls sister ..;)

Anyways, I don't know why I came up with this and the song. Probably one of the few Doors songs I liked.

Update on the flower seeds. Nothing yet. I do see some little green things sticking out of the ground, which could be flowers or weeds. They don't really look like weeds. So there's hope. And, shocker, we had some rain which should help. It did make the wild flowers come up. Everyone asked for pictures last year, I'll work on it for this year..:)

Happy Week End everyone

Well actually, prefer a 1960, But, this is the interior of a 1959 Chevrolet Corvette (C1 generation). Model: Chevrolet Corvette (first-generation solid-axle model). Engine: 283 cubic inch (4.6 L) small-block V8, available in several configurations ranging from 230 hp (base carbureted) to 315 hp (fuel-injected). The most common was the 270 hp version with dual carburetors. Transmission: 3-speed manual (standard), optional 4-speed manual or 2-speed Powerglide automatic. Other details: This appears to be a Roman Red interior color, with the classic three-spoke steering wheel and clustered instrument panel introduced in 1958. Production total for 1959 was 9,670 units. Thanks to Super Grok for research. :0)

Upon the shore where waves caress the sand,

A weathered boat lies beached, forlorn, and still.

Its hull, once kissed by sea’s adventurous hand,

Now rests in quiet, bound by land’s soft will.

The tides recede, their whispers soft and low,

Recounting tales of journeys far and wide.

No locks to hold, no oars to row,

Yet timbers hum where ocean’s heart resides.

Barnacles cling, a map of salted years,

Each mark a tale of currents braved and stray.

The hull, though worn, outlasts the tide’s cold jeers,

A relic proud beneath the sun’s warm ray.

O boat, you rest where sea and shore embrace,

Your voyages live on in twilight’s grace.

The Pink Panther in "Pink, Plunk, Plink"

View of Cobh’s Pearse Square (left) and Casement Square (right) from Cathedral Place on a September day with moody skies.

Cobh (2022 pop. 14,400), is a charming and touristy town nestled in County Cork. Grok says that “this photograph captures the essence of Cobh’s unique allure, showcasing its iconic colourful buildings that line the waterfront, a scene that has become synonymous with this maritime town.”

Cobh, formerly known as Queenstown, has a rich history intertwined with the sea. It was the last port of call for the RMS Titanic, a fact that adds a layer of poignant history to this picturesque setting. The town’s maritime museum, though not visible in this photo, is a testament to its seafaring past, housing artefacts and stories from the hundreds of thousands who once set sail from here, seeking new lives across the Atlantic.

The architecture in this image is distinctly Victorian, a nod to the town’s history as a key port for the British Empire. The buildings, with their steeply pitched roofs and intricate detailing, stand as silent witnesses to the countless tales of departures and arrivals. They have seen waves of people come and go, each leaving a trace of their stories in the town’s fabric.

Grok says, “The overcast sky, a common sight in Ireland, brings a certain moodiness to the photo. It speaks to the resilience of the town’s people, who have lived with the sea’s moods for generations. The calm water hints at the potential for sudden changes, much like the town’s own history - tranquil in moments, tumultuous in others”, and adds, “In capturing this morning* in Cobh, the photographer has not only depicted the town’s picturesque beauty but has also encapsulated the spirit of a place that has seen it all - departures, arrivals, joy, and sorrow. It’s a reminder that in the quiet corners of the world, history and beauty continue to coexist, waiting to tell their stories to those who take the time to look.”

I must say I am very impressed with the result. I started off asking for a night sky image over Australia, then I added a further request about the aurora. The gumtrees in the snow is the result . haha.

I generated an image with the prompt: '81 year old well preserved low country lady sitting against old oak tree, knees bent, holding Leica camera on top of knees, tidal creek and marsh in background.'. P.S. She looks better than I do. Ack!

This is closest to what I wanted to show, of the flying saucer actually at the level of the rings.
