茶畑 Tea plantation in Ujitawara, Kyoto.

I baked green tea cupcakes today! Aren't they beautiful! They are sooo good!

I used Magnolia Bakery's vanilla cupcake recipe (I halved the recipe so that I'd just get 12 cupcakes, but I actually ended up with 13) and added 1.5 tablespoons of green tea powder.

I used Chockylit's green tea cream cheese frosting, which I also halved, but added the full tablespoon of green tea powder.

Oh man what a friday...

So one of my best friends Patriiick drove down to San Diego today and what a day we had. Our objective of the day was to get some great SD beach shots and what do you know...it starts raining.

We decided to head out downtown and man...3:55P.M on the 5 South is not the business...traffic everywhere! and on top of that the rain was getting worse...so we said screw this let's head back....on the way back we pick up my Yorkie "Chuey" since he was home alone for awhile and go out for another attempt on shooting.

Patriick - "Oh danng let's go to that parking complex!!"

Me - "Oh hell yeah!! I'm flipping a B****"

On the way there a freakinn huge security guard rolls up "Hey no photography!. This is Goverment property!"

Me -"So much for that..."

Pat -"Wanna just go to Best Buy and buy walkie talkies?"

Me -"Umm, okay"

HAHA we were still able to get some pics in...here's one I took at a Carmax parking lot and unfortunately our only subjects were our drinks...the green tea classic...which I highly suggest to try...1 Pump raspberry, 6 pumps classic.

btw, those walkie talkies kept us active throughout the night. Oh man good times Patriiick...

Me -"Come in Patriiick ::over::"

Patriiick -"I think my batteries dead..."

traditional tiramisu recipe made with matcha, japanese green tea

Some friends asked for this kind of recipe and this is my first attempt. This is soufflé roll cake, the soft cake which I got the recipe from the Japanese book: 知りたがりの、お菓子レシピ―小さなこつも、大きなポイントby 小嶋 ルミ(Rumi Kojima). The method is different from other kinds of roll cake, the egg white must be cool and the first step is the same as making soufflé base. The cake is very puffy and tender (this is my first time so you can see that the cake has a little hole all around). Anyway I think this is quite easy for anyone who wants a roll cake which is soft and it’s not chiffon.

Note: The cold egg white method is very good; the meringue is thick, glossy and the bubble is smaller than making with room temperature egg white.

Sencha, meaning "broiled tea" is a common Japanese green tea. Over 75% of all tea grown and harvested in Japan is Sencha quality. It is made from young leaves of uncovered plants.

A very fresh green tea i recommend.

I got these from the new Cath Kidston shop in Liverpool and I actually met Cath Kidston herself! She wrapped these up for me in some paper and chatted to me about how much she liked 'spray flowers' print and the Liverpool store. Only thing is, I didn't realise I was talking to the lady herself until I got home and saw her on the telly that evening!

anne had gotten mom some hanahiyori brand green tea chocolates. i never had green tea with chocolate before. it's a strange combination. pretty good, but i still prefer my dark chocolate truffles.

These are all 50g bags of our products. We have different colour labels for each type of tea. Each label also contains the tea info, ingredients list and steeping time + temperature. The reverse side is transparent, so you can see how beautiful the tea looks before brewing up a delicious cup.
