Butorides Virescens

The creeping thistles (Cirsium arvense) are flowering everywhere right now. They are very popular among bees and butterflies but I had never seen a cricket on it before. This great green bush cricket didn't stay put for long as the bee was too annoying.

A little Green Heron on the Pond

Several species of anole lizards are found in Florida. The two most common small anoles are Green Anole and Brown Anole.

A handsome small lizard (about 7 inches , 17.8 cm), the Green, Anole is a native species commonly seen in Florida. This one was seen at Merritt Island NWR.

Female green Dragon (Erythemis simplicicollis) or Eastern Pondhawk (erythemis simplicicollis)They were doing that thing dragonflies do.

Reed abstract

That was the capture I liked most from my last weeks visit to a small pond nearby. I was about to look for dragonflies, water lilies or some other interesting creatures, but it ended in some abstract trials with the evening light in the reed.

I'm always fascinated of the colors and structures when the low standing sun brings plants like the reed to life.

Green is the color of nature and ferlility.

Grass green is the most restful color.

Green symbolizes, self respect and well being.

On the flip side, green is jealousy or envy ...(green-eyed monster),,,,,

While climbing Cader Idris you get this overwhelming view of green: mainly fields, the nearby ones grazed by sheep, distant ones more fertile - and trees.

The Green Heron,(Butorides virescens) is one of my favorite birds to photograph

This Greenie didn't disappoint me!!! This one spent a lot of time grooming...guess he was getting ready for the camera!! :)

I spent a good hour with this fellow, lots of photos with branches in the way but managed a few I am pretty happy with, more to come.

Shot around sunset on a very cloudy day. The light had a soft luminosity for just a few brief moments, creating a serene glow on the algae-covered water... a moment of tranquil elegance.
