In the green morning, before

Love was destiny,

The sun was king,

And God was famous.

The merry, the musical,

The jolly, the magical,

The feast, the feast of feasts, the festival

Suddenly ended

As the sky descended

But there was only the feeling,

In all the dark falling,

Of fragrance and of freshness, of birth and beginning.

Some pictures taken by the late Michael Cleary. I will be uploading any I think may be of interest. None were catalogued. Where I know the approximate date I will state it. Similarly I will give the location.

Despite the Grey Green fleetname I believe this bus was on hire from Nottingham.

I thought to break the pattern of urban images I have been posting recently with a throwback to my visit to Madeira in December. This was taken on a Levada hike in the heart of the island. The inner part of the island has its own climate - wet, moist and colder than the coast. But this is why the green is so intense and saturated. I miss greenery, and look forward to spring :)

This guy got a little out of sorts when a Kingfisher flew over him a little close and raised the feathers on his head.

Hall Green station looks fairly similar now, the main building is intact with the original canopy and that timber shed next to the "Gents" has gone to be replaced by a well tended flower bed. Peters platform has fared less well, the building behind the lady with the beehive hair-do was demolished and the replacement is a bus shelter. This was done at the time the line was slated for closure Hall Green and Yardley wood suffered but Shirley was spared.

By the bridge is a mechanical signal, the box is behind Peter. Leaning against the spear fencing the gardener has left his rake, the running in board has one of the rock edged flower beds. Today the platforms have neat planters and they are filled with well tended plants, volunteers of course.

Scene on the street. Some basic urban exploration.

As some of you know, I have recently posted numerous photos from a couple of past trips to the Southwest (US), including some from Canyonlands National Park (Utah). Today I was stunned when I found this aerial shot -- of Canyonlands. That's the Green River winding its way through the desert, eventually hooking up with the Colorado River some miles to the south.

Chá Gorreana is the oldest tea plantation of the Azores on Sao Miguel and for a long time has been the only tea plantation in Europe. The farm itself is a very touristy place but when I was there we were basically the only people around, although the plantation is just across the street. Maybe this was due to the few drops of rain this afternoon. Anyways, this is a gorgeous place for landscape photographers.

During the spare time in Canberra, we decided to go to Parliament house that we thinnk might be a nice opportunity for photograph. And what we found is the amazing lawn at the top of the building. The grass are so green and soft. We want to lie there forever.
