Chilly lunchtime at Mentor Graphics - A group of five Hooded Mergansers going around the center of the "pond" in the sun - in part because there is still a lot of ice near some edges of the pond. Good poses to help show how they differ from Bufflehead. All three males have their crests fairly collapsed, the one in front has the most elevated of the three. The farther-behind females has her crest pretty fully collapsed, the other has it up somewhat. The females rarely seem to get the elevation on crests that the males do.

In 1915, a monument dedicated to faith was erected in homage of the Recollets, the first religious order to be established in New France (1615). Faith is represented by the statue of a woman holding a cross in her right hand and a palm frond in her left; this statue forms the top of the fountain.

Examples of television weather report graphics from the 1980s, when computer generated graphics were beginning to come into use.
These are from after Press Broadcasting purchased WRBV-TV in Vineland NJ in 1985. They had AccuWeather reports every hour on the half-hour with their 'Good as Gold' nostalgia program format. The AccuWeather meteorologist's report was recorded over the telephone and played back with these slides.

Gocco fever!
This time I'm cross-breeding medium, as the powerpole image is gocco'd onto extra-wide vintage grosgrain ribbon, then the wires and the birds are embroidered on. (I'm thinking these will be interesting patches - I'm making 8 total).
