This is actually a grape hyacinth. I don't think I've ever seen one in a garden, but I'm sure they're cultivated. It's fun to find them growing up in lawns!

I tasted a couple of these today. They were sweeter than the last time I pasted this way. Looks like I'm not the only one who has been sampling these grapes!

So good and refreshing for summer snacks!

The Grapes around here have been so sweet and juicy I love to keep them around just to snack on !

yay, we've got grapes in our garden

Alsace, France: Grapes (in July, Fronholz vinyand)

Taken using a reversing ring and a 2X teleconverter and an old Praktica 50mm lens.

Grapes were heavy on every vine, glowing in the unexpected September sun. Harvest was to begin the next day.

This is an HDR workup that I did on a photo that I took in 2011. Western North Carolina has seen a large increase in vineyard activity over the past twenty years. If you are interested, you can view my other NC vineyard/Winery photos in a set that I put together.

camera club challenge: green

There is so much grape harvesting going on now and so much wine making. It's that time of year. I got a lot of pix of the grapes and the wine making. Maybe I should load more on flickr.

Wine grapes

Shiraz grapes.

Wine starts its life as a raw material, the grape.

These grapes were placed into an auger which crushes the grape and leaves behind the grape juice which then is used for the wine production process.

These particular grapes are being used in the production of Shiraz.

"Colui che non sa niente, non ama niente.

Colui che non fa niente, non capisce niente, ma colui che capisce .. ama, vede, osserva ..

La maggiore conoscenza è congiunta indissolubilmente all'amore ... Chiunque crede che tutti i frutti maturino contemporaneamente come le fragole, non sa nulla dell'uva"

- Paracelso - (da E. Fromm, L'Arte di amare)

"He who knows nothing, loves nothing. He who can do nothing understands nothing. ...

But he who understands also loves, notices, sees…The more knowledge is inherent in a thing, the greater the love.. Anyone who imagines that all fruits ripen at the same time as the strawberries knows nothing about grapes"

- Paracelsus - (E. Fromm, The Art of Loving)

My Rainbow Lorikeet was supposed to be in this picture but he didn't have the patience.

The beginning of something divine!

(Small crop).. Some lovely 'Grape Hyacinth'.. 'Muscari'.... in a sea of green ripples..

Homegrown grapes. That is why they are so small. This is the first year I covered them with some cloth to keep out the nibblers. Pretty sweet. :)

Black grape in Serbia

Stopped at Valley Vineyard in Prescott WI for some wine tasting and a little grape vine shooting.

This is an old photo, taken in 2003 at a winery. It is still one of my favorites.
