We have a Barn Swallow nest in our garage, the eggs have hatched and today was the big day for their first flight! (23-06-20-2077)
On Saturday, we attended our daughter Marie-France's Masters graduation ceremony at Laurentian University in Sudbury. She received a Master of Science Communications Degree after completing her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Guelph in 2023. Marie-France's hard work paid off and we are very proud of her.
Everything is right in the world...
School is out, I slept with the windows open and a breeze, I woke up to birds singing at sunrise, my coffee was luscious, the lawn is mowed, and this little Cinderella graduated today.
We are smug in this home...'click'.
This beautiful young woman rode on my bus to school for ten years, today she is off on a new adventure!
My last shot in the Africa Bridge series, this celebration is to take note that a Ward of villages has completed the 5-year development program. At the end, quality of life has improved across a variety of statistical measurements, from number of meals a day, the frequency of consuming protein, number of children in school (100%!), sleeping on mattresses, etc. Here, the Lufingo Ward celebrates their graduation. Now it is up to them to keep the co-ops and vulernable children's commttees operating.

2014.3 Osaka yodoyabashi , hakama style girls
Hakama is a divided skirt with kimono.
Female university students participate in their graduation ceremonies, often competing with each other in their hakama style costumes which were popular in the Taisho era(1912-1926).
This hakama style is different from oridinary kimono. Hakama is divided skirt worn with komono.
my friend, Luis....such a quick study after only 1 year in the US. Looks like he's taking the enormity of it in. He wants to become a neurologist or a physicist.
My eldest daughter, Elizabeth's graduation (Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction) University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia, 29 September 2017
This shot was taken the day I graduated from the US Naval School of Photography. My shipmate and best friend in the Navy, P.D. Raines, graduated the same day as myself and we wandered off to the US Naval Aviation Museum while in dress uniform to take a few photos. I didn't even have my "Agfa" added to my uniform yet!

This has been a very busy month here. We have guests from 2 countries visiting for my first born's grad that occurred yesterday. He was joined in the event by our German exchange student and his younger brother performed a song as well as doing emcee duties. It was a real family affair with mom helping with the decorations. I made a speech. We are all extremely tired today but it is in a very good way.
