100x walks #87
The best thing about catching the train to York is you don't have the inconvenience of navigating a city that's not car friendly. The downside is walking from your hotel to York Minster where your son is finally graduating (one year late due to the obvious) and having to transport high heels etc. in your rucksack - I was carrying my wife's shoes as well, of course.
Everyone in this image looks relaxed, enjoying the day with family members who have supported these graduates to achieve their fellowships. The blue and red of the gowns photograph nicely.
Taken in the Cultural Quarter of Southampton during Graduation Week for Solent University (Southampton, England)
A big day for one of the hummers in our back yard. One fledged yesterday and is starting its busy airborne life. The other one stayed hunkered down in the nest. But I'm guessing it will leave today. Godspeed, my little grandchicks.
Side note: The more I look at this, the more I think they may be black-chinned hummingbirds, not Anna's.
Busy few days here with graduation... but I wanted to put up a quick peek of some beautiful flowers <3 I received yesterday ...as well as one of the lovely dresses I received from long time friend, Esme <3 xxoo Thank you so much! Hopefully time for some better shots tomorrow and other goodies :D

It seems that there was a graduation ceremony at Kamakura Women's University.
There were many women wearing hakama in the city of Kamakura in the afternoon.
This outfit was worn around the 1920s when higher education for women began.
We decided to shoot Maria outside with Queens University as the backdrop rather than a black background for her graduation shot. It amazes me how they set up indoors and throw a fake background in when they are surrounded by beautiful grounds and hundreds of ideal spots with an abundance of natural light.
Each to their own they say.
Some photos from another one of the personal commencement events being held in Des Moines, this one at North High School. Over the course of eight hours, graduates came back to school in their caps and gowns for their diplomas, awards, photos and a walks across the stage.
