Not the usual kind of image that I post, but I rather liked the shot and the light!

The best thing about catching the train to York is you don't have the inconvenience of navigating a city that's not car friendly. The downside is walking from your hotel to York Minster where your son is finally graduating (one year late due to the obvious) and having to transport high heels etc. in your rucksack - I was carrying my wife's shoes as well, of course.

Everyone in this image looks relaxed, enjoying the day with family members who have supported these graduates to achieve their fellowships. The blue and red of the gowns photograph nicely.

A big day for one of the hummers in our back yard. One fledged yesterday and is starting its busy airborne life. The other one stayed hunkered down in the nest. But I'm guessing it will leave today. Godspeed, my little grandchicks.

Side note: The more I look at this, the more I think they may be black-chinned hummingbirds, not Anna's.

Had to post one more. Sorry I'm so proud of her I can't help myself.

Once tomatoes start to color on the vine, you can pick them and allow them to finish ripening on your window sill. You won't lose any of the vine-ripe flavor, and you won't lose any of them to birds or other pests...

We have a Barn Swallow nest in our garage, the eggs have hatched and today was the big day for their first flight! (23-06-20-2077)

On Saturday, we attended our daughter Marie-France's Masters graduation ceremony at Laurentian University in Sudbury. She received a Master of Science Communications Degree after completing her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Guelph in 2023. Marie-France's hard work paid off and we are very proud of her.
