My graditude to my country and tribute to all National contests in SL. My humble request to the all participants to pay attention to details, be carefull with using stuff and show your respect and be pride with chosen country. History and past are the main things. It is not enough to just have a look at modern "haute couture" shows or fashion mainstream.
Please, make residents of "your chosen" country to be proud of YOU! Thank you!

The image of a woman in a pose of gratitude, with more than 1,000 plants for hair, is a towering advertisement for SolTerra. It’s not just that the firm will shift production of the living wall planters, which are like felt pockets, into the new building. It’s also that the five-story windowless wall on which the painted image sits is one of the green features of the design. The building at Southeast Ninth Avenue and Division, where the road bends away from the Ford Building and goes north now has a 70-foot-tall image painted by London-based muralist Fin DAC.
I am so grateful for those moments in each day that remind me of the beauty of life and how blessed I am.

Mr. Clinton is thanking here but not to me, it happened we had chosen same cafe as Mr. Clinton and sat at same table, not same day though he on 4 oct 2002 and we at 9 April 2006. Coffee was good, tart even better and price was very sobering.
btw staff told us Mr. Bush was there too but on the first floor far from the window.

Continuing my post Christmas/New Year graditude series...
As much as I like the style of the previous shot, my first love is seascape photography. If you look at my profile, and scroll down to my favourites... you'll see the first shot I ever marked as a favourite was by a very talented seascape photographer, Blue Fin Art.
No one portrays the Scottish coastline as well as he does, the man should be working for the Scottish Tourist Board on a permenant retainership! I have a big thing about water... don't know what it is, as I nearly drowned when I was 5, but it is a major attraction. Living slap bang in the middle of Scotland, there's not much around me, however Blue Fin Art's work has inspired me to make frequent early morning trips out to the coast over the last year in the hope of catching a glorious sunrise over the sea, (and that usually means leaving a couple of hours before sunrise... so thanks for the enforced insomnia!)
I like his stuff so much his was also the second shot I favourited :-) Not only is he a great photographer, he's also a brilliant contact who offered a lot of assistance when my camera broke.
You really should set aside some time to sit back and enjoy his superb stream.

It has been some time now since I captured a sunset. One presented itself this evening, so I seized the opportunity.. ;-)
I want to give it to you my wonderful friends.. I can not adequately express my gratefulness and graditude to you for supporting me by viewing and commenting on my images. I don't always get around to thanking you individually, so by dedicating this image to you, in a small way it is my thanks to you all. :-)
I have made some wonderful friends here on flickr and to me, that is what I like most about this site. Sure, this is a photo sharing site .. but it goes far beyond that... :-)
To you my friends, and you know who you all are, I say thank you.. your all wonderful people...
This summer sunset is dedicated to all of you... nick

We're never so vulnerable than when we trust someone - but paradoxically, if we cannot trust, neither can we find love or joy. ~Walter Anderson
With sincere, undying graditude to my husband for taking me as I am, breaking down the wall of protection around my heart, and allowing me to trust again. Your unconditional love for me has brought a depth of healing you may not ever fully comprehend.

30 Days/Graditude 09' Day #5 Finally! I'm all caught up! *hehe*
I'm grateful for the little me time that I get when my daughter takes a nap and goes to sleep early. Her going to sleep early doesn't happen a lot but when it does, it makes my day! haha
I get to play online, get chores done, read magazines, read books, watch movies... And I know this may TMI but even take showers alone! She loves to take baths with me... which I love because it's been great bonding opportunities but I do like to take my showers alone without having to worry about her slipping or getting cold because we have to share the shower head. LOL
Anyway... I love my me time. And although I haven't had much of it since Hubby's been gone all these weeks, I've managed just fine. I always squeeze it in somehow. It's absolutely necessary for me to keep going without him here. Without that extra help. =)
Really glad you're all liking this project I'm doing. I don't know if they can all continue to be as great as the one before. I'm running out of "juice" here. But I'm trying!
I think everyone of us would be much happier if we would cherrish more what and who we have and be greatful for everything good in our lifes... for the past and present... Since all these things have made us who we are today.
Figured I needed to fulfill my one-creation-a-year quota and what better day than today?
Happy Veterans Day. My graditude for our men and women in the armed forces cannot be put into words. God bless all of those who are currently serving, have served, or have given the ultimate sacrifice.
The M1126 (yes, another 8x8 of the Piranha chassis) is the Infantry Carrier Vehicle variant of the Stryker family. Armed with a .50 cal Protector M151 Remote Weapon Station, carrying 9 infantry dismounts, and sporting a myriad of armor and ECM protection, the ICV is a force to be reckoned with.
Not really happy with the slat armor design, but I just made it out of what I had on hand.
From the Jetty, I stand alone.... in graditude for the increasing sunset and the calm and quiet waters before me.
I am so thank ful I was able to see these amazing birds and photograph them this year... I am also full of graditude for all the people who have been so encouraging, full of wonderful comments. Thank you all!!!~~~
With graditude and thanks to all men and women who served this nation and defend the Constitution.

My love,
I'll never find the words my love, to tell you how I feel my love.
Mere words, could not explain.
Precious love,
You held my life within your hands, created everything I am,
tought me how to live again.
Only you,
came when I needed a friend, believed in me through thick and thin,
this song is for you, filled with graditude and love...
We're ALL so busy, but I wanted to express my graditude for the folks I've 'met' this year (...and counting) : )
Gettin' to know you,
Gettin' to know all about you.
Gettin' to like you,
Gettin' to hope you like me.
Gettin' to know you,
Putting it my way but nicely.
You are precisely,
My cup of tea.
Gettin' to know you,
Gettin' to feel free and easy.
When I am with you,
Gettin' to to know what to say.
Haven't you noticed,
Suddenly I 'm bright and breezy,
Because of all the beautiful and new
Things I'm learning about you
Day by day.

It's really not a song
To make you sad and blue
It's a song of love
That's true
I thought I'd take the time
To sit myself right down
And thank you for the treasures
I've found
With my family, all of my friends
With my family, and all of my friends
With my family, all of my friends, and you
Yes, you've done your part
To try and help me out
That is what it's really all about
Knowing that you care
Always make me smile
You are what makes living worthwhile
Thank You

I am part of a large blended family. One of my "bonus" sons and his wife welcomed their first child on October 23, 2012. Baby Broghen shares the same birthday with his 22 year old uncles (my twin sons). Broghen was born 14 weeks early, weighing just 1lb 6oz. He is in the NICU in California. I do not know when I will get to meet him but I can tell you he has captured my heart! He continues to grow and develop, however, it is a slow process. We are very blessed. He has excellent care, is smiling lots and is almost 3 pounds. I bought this ornament in his honor.
The gentleman in the back then said to the cop "Thanks for all you do." That was followed with a big thumbs up. The rest of the family turned to look and some gave supportive words. There were lots of nice smiles.
I started working on my produce farm project back in February, when the snow was flying. Now, in June the strawberries are ripe, and the workers pick every morning, and put them in small containers for sale. The strawberries are delicious and today when I walked into the refrigerated storage room the aroma was over powering.
At first the workers were suspicious of me---they thought I was going to make money off their images. They didn't accept me. I put up a gallery of their images on the barn wall and started giving out 8 1/2 by 11 color prints to them as gifts and now the tide has changed. As a photographer and a human being you just can't take, take, take----you have to find some way to give back. I gave this young lady, who was the first to talk to me, and accept me, a print of this image today. My reward, which is priceless, was to see her joy and graditude.
I made this image with my Pentax K5 and Pentax 18-135 lens. Processing was done in Aperture 3.
Camera settings: ISO 800, aperture f/8, shutter 1/125, focal length 48mm

Day one: I'm thankful to live somewhere that actually has four seasons.
I wish I could've uploaded a picture of family, but I'm not having dinner until next week because people were working yesterday...

Today could have been wretched. But it wasn't. Since my car is in the shop, we've been biking to preschool. Well, this morning, I ran into bike trouble, with about 15 minutes left before preschool started. We started walking. Within 1/4 mile, a wonderful friend saw us walking and picked us up. We surely would have been late--I so appreciated the kindness.
Then another friend offered to help me get a key to the school that they needed. Spared me a 4 mile walk. Not that I hate walking. But busting my but a million miles in 90 degree weather really isn't on my list of favorite things to do.
This is schmaltzy, but the older I get, the more convinced I am that people are really kind and good at heart. That given the choice, most people do the right thing.
And look. I have a cliche going and it's not even Saturday. ;-)
Part of my Journey...
Sad to say I won't be spending my afternoons with one of my best friends anymore. She is moving on and I must let her go, as a good friend would do for another.
Friendship arrives in many disguises but you have to be open to receive them.
For 25 years (I was around for that first show) she has been my friend, my teacher and my mentor. We shared so many things, we could have been born of the same family. Each day we would meet at 4 o'clock, at my house, she would even come to Maine and we would share a cup of tea, knit for an hour and share stories of human kindness, tragedies, and healing. We have laughed together, cried together and had ah ha moments together.
She has taught me how to use my graditude journal and then to go out in the world and be compassionate and loving. We share a love of God and Grace. We have walked in the woods, picked flowers and so we understand the power that is greater than ourselves.
She is a teacher of life and I have enjoyed every one of my tea dates with her.
Some would say it's strange to consider a t.v. personality a friend but I don't. I know the meaning of friendship. It's when your heart and your house is open to receive another. She will always be welcome in my house as she has been for the last 25 years.
I will miss her each day, I wish her well and I know our paths will cross again. So thank you Oprah for all you have done for humankind. Enjoy sleeping in tomorrow.
What I've Learned:
Each day I learned more
Than I teach:
I learned that half knowledge of anothers life
leads to false judgment;
I learned that there is a surprising kinship
In human nature;
I learned it is a wise father
who knows his own son;
I learned what we expect is what we get;
I learn there is more good than evil in this world;
That age is a question of spirit;
That youth is the best of life;
No matter how numerous it's years;
I learn how much there is to learn.
