ÖBB diesel railcar 5047 031-9 stands at Sulz Museumsdorf, waiting to depart with 16.48 to Obersdorf (train R7251). This station is on the former Niederösterreich Landesbahn (NÖLB) "Lokalbahn" network north-east of Vienna, and was originally called Sulz-Nexing - and this name is still displayed on the station building.

The Lokalbahn was pretty much what we in the UK would term a "light railway", built cheaply with tight curves and steep gradients to avoid substantial earthworks (but this part of Austria is fairly flat anyway). The NÖLB did not penetrate Vienna, but got as far as Stammersdorf in the suburbs (now the end of a tram route - with the station site now the tram terminus) and connected with main lines in various places, in a couple of places with the Lokalbahn station being adjacent to the mainline one.

Most of the network lost its passenger service in May 1988, leaving just Obersdorf - Groß Schweinbarth and Gänserndorf - Groß Schweinbarth. A few lines without freight traffic closed completely. However, a year later the southernmost end of the Groß Schweinbarth - Bad Pirawarth - Mistelbach line reopened, as far as a new halt at Gaweinstal-Brünnerstraße. In September 1993 the first section of the Bad Pirawarth - Zistersdorf line reopened, as far as Hohenruppersdorf, and in December 2003 that was extended to Sulz-Nexing (where the station was renamed Sulz Museumsdorf, after a local tourist attraction). Freight was withdrawn from all but the Korneauburg - Mistelbach - Hohenau route in September 2000 (that line had lost its passenger service in 1988), and even that had its middle section (between Ernstbrunn and Mistelbach) closed a few years later, with freight ending east of Mistelbach about a decade later. Passenger services between Bad Pirawarth and Gaweinstal-Brünnerstraße (reinstated in 1989) ceased in December 2004.

ÖBB had planned to reduce the passenger network back to its post-May 1988 status in December 2010, hence during this visit to Austria we spent an afternoon travelling the remaining lines (easily done, with a train every thirty minutes on most lines); I required all of them, while my travelling companion needed this section, as he'd travelled the rest in late 2002. In the event, only the Bad Pirawarth - Sulz Museumsdorf section closed in December 2010, but the rest finally succumbed nine years later. However, Bad Pirawarth to Sulz Museumsdorf was reopened as a weekend-only heritage railway in August 2021 by Eisenbahnmuseum Strasshof.

While here, there was just enough time to look round the corner (beyond the diesel railcar) to see the status of the closed route onwards. The track continued into the distance, quite heavily overgrown (so my notes say); trains were prevented from continuing further by a temporary red "possession" board placed in the four-foot. I walked up the track towards it, but time did not allow exploration further than I could see, and I wasn't able to establish whether any of the rails had been removed.

Fiz essa gradiente insipriada no tutorial da Kelly, mas eu usei um esmalte de base antes de esponjar.

- 1x Base Prófortalecimento (Colorama)

- 1x Dupla-face (Colorama)

Esponjado com:

- Dupla-face (Colorama)

Today was the first time I've used an underwater camera and it was super fun to use. The only problem was we had to take a lot of shots because I didn't have goggles to see the screen so I had to guess a little bit where she was and when to press the shutter.

I like how this one turned out though :)

It's really weird sitting here thinking about it being 4:30 and still light out at home when its 7:30 and pitch black here.

pastebin.com/sJtCmkeG - there's the code if you don't believe me. (it's 17.5 KB, but it lags as bad as a 3 MB code!)

The left one was using the save .jpg button and the right one was a print screen.

Also, anyone have any Wii Points codes they haven't used? I want to get DLC for Guitar Hero.

Kisses meninas e menino [oi Douglas] bom sábado pra vcs!

The challenging 1 in 49 gradient of the beautiful Esk Valley can be clearly seen in this shot from Lease Rigg Lane on its northern rim, as the recently overhauled 1904 Kitson-built Lambton 0-6-2T No. 29 (Works No. 4263), resplendent in its Lambton Colliery lined green livery (reapplied in February 2014 to mark its 110th Anniversary) and Thomson B1 Trust 4-6-0 No. 61264 double-head the 14:00 Whitby to Goathland service, banked by Class 25/3 No. D7628 Sybilla, on 26th September 2014, the first day of the NYMR Autumn Gala.

This image completes the series of sunrise shooting at the Katzensee. I'm off searching for more Spring motifs. Any good idea?

Lake Innaren, Växjö - Sweden

I took this to see the approaching train on the viewfinder, I had a shot in mind for a few moments later but opted to step aside for 'westernbasher' who got a sterling shot against the Sun!

That platform in the distance is Woodsmoor station. The loco is 66091 on the Peak Forest to Hope Street.
