Our Street Art Festival drowned in rain. No officiel winner was chosen by the Jury, as several of the artists didn't have a decent chance to finished their image. This beautiful image was chosen as the best by the audience.

A little additional info....most of the drawings are made as 3D-drawings. The artist often make a pair of food prints to show us from were we have to look to get the right impression, but this year only a few did that, so you are quite challenged to get it right ...lol It's sometimes difficult to see with your eyes only, but a shot with a phone, tablet or a point to shot camera actually makes the best pics. It's the second time we've the International Street Art Festival and it will continue as yearly event. The paintings will normally lasts for about 3-4 months even with bad weather and daily walking on them etc, but this year we had so much rain while they were made, that they already are starting to look fairly worn out.

Just before spalshdown, this duck lands on the lake at Mount Lofty Botanics.

An image shot at dawn, of the stunning Humber Bridge, Nr Hull, East Yorkshire, UK.

An image shot a few years ago, of the amazing Humber Bridge, spanning the River Humber between East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

The Bridge is a 2.22-kilometre (2,430 yd; 7,300 ft; 1.38 mi) single-span road suspension bridge, which opened to traffic on 24 June 1981.

When it opened, the bridge was the longest of its type in the world; it was not surpassed until 1998, with the completion of the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge, and is now the eleventh-longest.

I'd say it's the most beautiful however, low slung and graceful it is, British engineering at its very best.

I'd love a return visit....

Wouldn’t it be boring if things didn’t come down, for one thing the world would empty pretty damn quick. As with waves, the wow factor of that big one reaching its crescendo is rapidly replace with the fascination of it falling back to earth. I find the more meteoric the rise the more graceful it falls when gravity kicks in. A bit of a life lesson here, if you are travelling to the stars remember in the end it will all come crashing down, so make sure you have landing gear and do it gracefully.

Picturesque framing of great egrets hunting in a rich intertidal ecosystem, algae-covered rocks and tide pools.

These birds are characterized by their entirely white plumage, long legs, long necks, and pointed beaks

They are typically found in shallow waters, including coastlines, marshes, and lagoons, where they wade to hunt for fish and other small aquatic animals.

Great egrets are known for their elegant and graceful landings, often described as smooth and deliberate, with their long legs and wings outstretched as they approach their landing spot

Canada Geese are indeed graceful, at least in the air. I love to watch them glide in for a water landing with their heads up and wings outstretched.

They are also one of the perfect birds to practice on for catching birds-in-flight. They don't move too fast and are big enough that AF can lock on pretty easily. Now if I could just get better with the little ones!

Thanks so much for your visits and views - they are much appreciated!

"Horses make a landscape look beautiful."

~Alice Walker

"When you know a horse it is obvious that they care about their keepers. It is obvious when they are happy, when they're angry, when they're sad, when they're hurt, and when they're just playing around. It is obvious when they don't want to do something, even if it's good for them, and it is obvious whether they're going to let you make them do it anyway. They fight, play, get jealous, are greedy, brave, or scared, just like any other animal. They crave attention and approval, like a dog does. They see you as family, despite knowing you are not a horse.

A good relationship with a horse means trust, which is largely based on consistency and reliability. They have to believe you will protect them, and in turn they will protect you, sometimes with their lives if needed. I've seen very large horses try to hide behind their keepers when they were scared, and I've seen them stand between their keepers and aggressive animals like coyotes and even a bull. In a good relationship with a horse you could sleep in the middle of the pasture they graze and they would protect you, from anything, including other horses. And they know you'll protect them and not lead them to harm. With a good relationship you can sleep in the saddle and the horse will be careful not to let you fall off and they won't wander into trouble, although sometimes they'll just go home if you stop telling them where to go. They sometimes trust you enough to let you ride them right off a cliff, or into deep water, to their own deaths.

They are proud, graceful , loyal, beautiful animals. You don't own a horse, you care for one. They aren't pets, they are family members. And like children, they are expensive, time-consuming, long-term commitments." Ryan Mattes

Today I noticed a few of the pristine white Trilliums are turning pink already. They do this when their blooming time is over. It is such a graceful and elegant way of giving up the spotlight on spring. It was another successful birding day walking on the trails. Yet, I could not overlook these beauties one more time before they are gone.
