SETÚBAL (Portugal): Portal norte da Igreja de São Julião.
Da primitiva igreja dedicada a S. Gião ou Julião, datada da segunda metade do século XIII e atribuída pela tradição ao empenho dos pescadores locais (PORTELA, M. Maria, 1882), apenas se sabe que esteve ligada através de uma tribuna aos paços contíguos de D. Jorge de Lencastre, Duque de Aveiro e Coimbra e Mestre da Ordem de Santiago, funcionando quase como sua capela privativa, até c. 1510. Em 1513 determina D. Manuel a ampliação desta igreja, bem como da igreja de Santa Maria da Graça, ambas paroquiais, obra a ser paga em parte pela população local, embora no caso presente o Mestre de Santiago tenha contribuído com 500$000 réis para os trabalhos.
A ampliação veio a revelar-se de facto uma reconstrução total, não sem terem surgido vários imprevistos: durante os trabalhos deu-se a derrocada de uma nave, e houve necessidade de rebaixar outra (SILVA, J. Custódio Vieira, 1990, p. 70). O templo manuelino assim erguido sofreu por sua vez os efeitos do terramoto de 1531, não completamente conhecidos, mas que terão conduzido à segunda reconstrução do edifício, terminada por volta de 1570; alterada já boa parte da sua feição original, veio ainda a conhecer nova e extensa destruição aquando do cataclismo de 1755. É já no reinado de D. Maria que a igreja é reconstruída, pouco conservando hoje do templo quinhentista, à excepção dos dois portais manuelinos (o principal, a Ocidente, e o portal Norte), bem como a estreita porta que dá acesso à torre sineira. - El Monasterio fué construido durante el reinado de los Reyes Católicos, concretamente entre 1482 y 1493.
Se compone de una iglesia y tres claustros de los cuales el de Los Reyes es el de mayores dimensiones. A todo ello fueron añadidas una serie de estancias relacionadas con funciones del monasterio como la de ser Sede Inquisitorial ( S. XVI ) y Universidad.
- Este claustro de Los Reyes consta de dos pisos: el bajo posee 40 grandes arcos y el primero 56..
Tanto las arcadas como las columnas contienen bolas ornamentales, en lo que se llama, " perdado abulense ". típico de Gótico de esta zona.

Conocida también como Iglesia de Nuestra Señora, este edificio sagrado construido en estilo gótico tardío tiene más de 700 años de historia, en los que ha sido escenario de muchas coronaciones y de dos bodas reales.
In the village Zbarzewo there is a very interesting historical Gothic church of Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary. It was built in 1470 by the Rattenberg-Zbarzewski family, the owners of the village. A narrower and lower polygonal chancel adjoins the almost square nave. A baroque porch from the 17th century adjoins the nave on the south side. A large brick with the inscription "Anno MºCCCCº septuagesino" is embedded in the southern, outer wall of the chancel. Inside, there is a late Gothic statue of St. Anna Samotrzec from the first half of the 16th century. In the area next to church, surrounded by a wall, there is an old cemetery and a wooden belfry.

Do prawie kwadratowej nawy przylega węższe i niższe prezbiterium zamknięte wielobocznie. Do nawy od strony południowej przylega barokowa kruchta z XVII wieku. W południową, zewnętrzną ścianę prezbiterium wmurowana jest duża cegła z napisem "Anno MºCCCCº septuagesino". We wnętrzu znajduje się późnogotycka rzeźba św. Anny Samotrzeć z 1 połowy XVI wieku. Na terenie przykościelnym, otoczonym murem, znajduje się stary cmentarz oraz drewniana dzwonnica.
