It was $75.00 but after hearing the story of how they met while Carlos was working on the book, I knew I had to have it.
Carlos and April met while Carlos was photographing for the book. The book's editor selected April for the cover without knowing that she had just started dating Carlos. This was more than 10 years ago and they've been happily married since then.

the other week end we went to two different street parties, round the corner from our house. they were both happening independently of each other and without realising the other one was happening.
its was a lovely day, and it really makes me smile when things like street partys happen, its just people being nice, and i like that
We are going to see the Good Vibrations movie this evening.
Been looking forward to this for a while!

Protex are another great band from the Belfast punk scene of 30+ years ago. They didn’t quite manage the relative success of the Outcasts and Rudi but did produce some really catchy songs that have remained firm favourites with me and others who were into this music at this time. There has been a lot of interest in Protex recently due to release of old previously unreleased material from the early 80s. The band reformed last year in response to this resurgence of attention.
They were brilliant on Saturday night – sounding fresh and vital.

I am really enjoying seeing and hearing all these bands live again and am amazed how genuinely great it all sounds. All the bands on Saturday seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves and there was not a hint of cynicism in the punters about the old punk reunions. Just a real sense of celebration of a uniquely special music scene of Belfast 1977-1982. The timing is great too with the upcoming release of the Good Vibrations "> movie later in the Autumn which tells the story of Terri Hooley and the Good Vibrations record label. The movie will share with the world the story of the Belfast Punk scene emerging against the backdrop of the troubles. The “long trailer” for the film was premiered at the event on Saturday and it looks so engaging- funny, touching and a fitting celebration of the music. I am hoping it is going to be a blockbuster!

The Beach Boys will bring their classic hits to Mystic Lake Casino Hotel for two performances on Monday, December 31 to ring in the New Year!

There were rumours circling earlier in the day that we wouldn't have access to the photo pit for Kanye. These were confirmed during the set before but strangely we were allowed to shoot from the crowd. It's not the most ideal situation having to fight your way through 50000 munted punters to get a shot. On the positive side we didn't have to sign the very restrictive Kanye photo contract.
