Had a spectacular sky at sunset tonight--unfortunately, most of it was way overhead and behind me, so it was impossible to really capture the true cloud awesomeness (trust me, it was gooooorgeous). Still, I was very fortunate to get a few streaking whispy clouds to match up with the moving water, and the massive cloud bank behind me was nice enough to light up the water a nice coral color. :)
Holiday at last.....
Seven weeks to charge the batteries again.
The last few days I was almost running on empty.
The kind reactions to my former upload, that I just posted to say hello,
give me good vibrations. Friends will be friends that's how it feels!
There's a slight chance that I'll be checking your stream more often.
I still miss you all.

Today is a Friday (September 27, 2019), so it is definitely a time for good vibes. Saw this sign in front of a local T-shirt store.

and that's what BABA always transmitted to me, even before to speak with him.
He has a shop at Marratxí (Mallorca).
There was no problem for him to let me make him a picture
and neither was when I asked him if I could show his picture at Internet.
I hope to spread his "good vibes" with this picture ;-)
Carol Queen and Juliet Anderson. At age 71, Juliet told the most amazing story about living life and enjoying sex. These two ladies were so cool and so profound.

The first shot uploaded from today's Good Vibration festival in Sydney at Centennial Park. Headliner Kanye West decided he was too cool for school and banned photographers from the pit, so Matt Booy (TripleJ), Ashley (InTheMix) and myself muscled our way up to near the front to grab some shots. Waiting forty minutes in the crowd with bags full of heavy gear sucked, but managed to get a few passable shots out of it - thank goodness for the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L ;)

The story of the life of Terri Hooley, his Good Vibrations record label and music shop, and the punk scene in Belfast in the late 70s and early 80s
The film is superb and the musical is closely based on the film but has a different feel to it. A chaotic series of quick set changes that happen as the scenes are played out with the props being moved by the performers - this helter-skelter feel really suits the story, I think.
The young cast are so full of energy and talent.

When the torture and scandals continued, Mirabai sent a letter to Tulsidasji and asked for his advice. She wrote, "Simply because I am constantly tortured by my relatives, I cannot abandon my Krishna. I am unable to carry on with my devotional practices in the palace. I have made Giridhar Gopala my friend from my very childhood. I feel a total bondage with him. I cannot break that bond".
Tulsidasji sent a reply: "Abandon those who cannot understand you and who do not worship Rama or Syama, even though they are your dearest relatives. Prahlada abandoned his father; Vibhishana left his brother Ravana; Bharata deserted his stepmother; Bali forsook even his Guru; the Gopasthrees, the women of Vraja, disowned their husbands to get to their Krishna. Their lives were all the happier for having done so. The relation with God and the love of God are the only elements that are true and eternal; all other relationships are unreal and temporary".

Tie dye is always in fashion when you go to a music fesival. I always like viisting at the annual California World Music Festival in Grass Valley in July. Waltzing by the sales booth in the late afternoon the sun pops through the beautiful sheets and makes a rainbow of sunshine colors.
Inka-gold everywhere...on the large acrylic bead dangle, smaller metal beads and of course, the pendant!
One of the shapes I made from Helen Breil's tutorial that has been lying unloved on my desk...until now.
A very brief diversion from Namibia, this was shot at Abbey Road on the River in Louisville this weekend. We've buried ourselves in concerts since returning, first Alice in Chains the day after we got back, then Abbey Road this weekend, and then the brilliant Eddie Izzard on Wednesday. Abbey Road is a unique event, a celebration of Beatles and related music that lasts for a very long and sleepless weekend, with jams and parties typically petering out at 5am, and open air concerts on multiple stages starting again at noon. This year the Beach Boys and John Sebastion headlined, and featured here are a Paul McCartney tribute band from the UK called Wingsbanned. The magic of the festival lies in the great atmosphere, and the late night jam sessions featuring musicians from all over the world. Last night, for example, a group of musicians from Columbia and Kazakstan jammed for an hour, delivering faultless (and I really mean flawless) renditions of a selection of Queen songs, including Bohemian Rhapsody, one of the more challenging songs to play live. I have to say that a lot of the most passionate rock and roll came from countries I wouldn't have expected. Maybe rock isn't dead, but has just moved locations! Honestly, I enjoyed last nights jam more than I've enjoyed a gig for years, and it reminded me of why I fell in love with rock and roll in the first place. It had energy, passion, brilliant musicianship, and was done purely for the fun of it. All I need now is a Spinal Tap reunion and I'll be a total believer again!
