I was en route to a rather middle-of-nowhere place the other evening and noticed a sky full of wispy, high-elevation clouds that would likely make for a good sunset. I began thinking about possible spots I might be able to shoot and possible subjects, keeping an eye out during the hour-long trip. As it turned out, the sunset WAS incredible, but I was still struggling to find something to shoot other than the clouds once the colors were really starting to pop. And then, I saw a small group of horses. I knew I had to photograph the horses against the sunset. It was the law. I turned off the pavement and onto a dirt county road that would place the horses between me and the most fiery part of the sky. I called out some gentle, goofy greetings while wading into the roadside grass, walking on my knees to both appear less threatening and to better position the horses above the horizon. Luckily, the horses were curious about me and wandered closer, probably hoping that I had a snack for them. I didn't have much light left by the time I found the horses, and I was forced to use a relatively fast shutter, as they were pretty active in their endeavor to acquire a snack. Though overall, I was pretty happy with this glorious-looking horse and sky, despite a little noise in the image due to the above compromises.

Was able to spend the day at ArtPrize yesterday. As we were leaving, I took a few shots with my phone, playing with the pro settings to get a better night shot. I've not done a lot of night photography but think I should go back with the Canon and try this again. This photo was processed with my software and using a smidge of clarity from the Flickr photo editor. I think this would be a good scene for some long exposure. Any comments and direction will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for viewing :)

Having spent the day on the Cornwall coast 57602 pauses at a wet Redruth on its way back to London Paddington.
Ik moest echt even terug vanavond en ja hoor er waren nog wat van die blauwe schatjes. Ik heb nu de iso wat omhoog gedaan en kon een mooie sluiter halen om zonder statief te schieten. Hoewel ik een fijn statief heb vind ik het toch belemmerend werken. Ik Kruip graag om het vlindertje heen want ik zoek toch een vrije achtergrond. Het is al gauw rommelig met mijn camera :-)

The modern Palace of Westminster is the largest Gothic building in the world - there are over 1,000 rooms and two miles of corridors in it.
The Palace of Westminster contain the bell Big Ben that is struck each quarter hour. A light in the clock tower tells when the House of Commons is in session. Big Ben is one of the most famous landmarks in the world. The Great Bell which was first struck on the 7 September 1859 a weighs of almost 13 tons.
