The Muiderslot is a castle in the Netherlands, located at the mouth of the river Vecht, some 15 kilometers southeast of Amsterdam, in Muiden, where it flows into what used to be the Zuiderzee (now IJmeer). Castle Muiderslot is over 700 years old and surrounded by water and beautiful historic gardens. It’s one of the oldest and best-preserved castles in the Netherlands and was built in 1280 with a single clear goal in mind: defence.
The castle has a moat with a drawbridge. The castle has a long and turbulent history and has been featured in many television series set in the Middle Ages.

My goal on this hike was Gobbler's Knob and maybe the Marine Crash Memorial, but as I humped along it was like turning a page in a book or watching a play unfold. Each bend in the trail brought a new scene, new story, and having it shrouded in fog just added to it. I could have stayed here all day and waited for a show, I hope the guy in the tent did.
When I first got into photography many years back. I thought the goal was to take perfect pictures. Then as time went on, I realized what I wanted. To strive for images that I found the most intriguing. Whether I've done that or not. Can be questioned. But, I'm going to try to keep photographing my way anyways.
It was simplicity that was the goal of this shot. A rock, a cloud, and the ocean. "Less is more", they say when it comes to life. Until it was discovered that a very wealthy individual coined the phrase, attempting to convince the less fortunate to accept their lot in life.
However, this simple phrase is true in photography. eliminating clutter does remove distractions. This is what the phrase is meant to illustrate. These are the simple goals that any photographer desires.

We were out in the park at dawn, in thick valley bottom fog. It was, in fact, too thick... so we drove up a hill to a lookout point with sweeping views, and that was high enough. While the fog rolled along the river, George rolled video, and I got on a roll shooting stills. We were all rolling.
George Tsougrianis is a Swift Current based cinematographer whose film, Wild Prairie Man, was a finalist at the Cannes Film Festival back in 2022. He continues to work at a variety of nature-and-wildlife related projects in Grasslands National Park and other locations. The aforementioned documentary WPM is currently in the hands of a German distributor and may not be available in North America for the next year or so, until the contract expires. The latest? "We're big in Poland," says George.
Everything passes, of course. Four of us had supper last night, and much of the conversation revolved around how to make a living - or stay afloat - as an artist in a society that really doesn't value art. Friend Madonna concluded the exchange by observing that when rich folks get together they often talk about art; when artists get together, they often talk about money.
But money can't be the driving motivation for an artist. That isn't why we do it.
This morning, it's still pitch black at 5:45 a.m. George will be here in half an hour. We'll head out to the park again. I have no goals or expectations other than to be in "receptive mode" and to follow the light, which is the best guide. After that, what happens, happens.

She has been one of my favourite characters and the one who inspired my virtual name.
After nearly 14 years, I have finally reached my goal to get the closest to her original appearance and with great pleasure, I share this today!

My original goal was to visit this cute farm yard!, My Focus was the International BTD 6 Dozer in the left centre of this Pano. on the far left are the discs, which would have cultivated this scrub and swamp land and converted it to pasture. in the background are a couple of small sheds. and in the far right is the dwelling. I normally don't photograph old dwellings that are still occupied, which in this case it is! In this case i did include it because the humble dwelling is very much part of the story. I haven't got any grand travel plans for 2025. But that's OK as looking closer to home offers many possibilities. I would like to shoot more Jurassic Coast, Dartmoor and Cornwall.
And Somerset - I will be keeping a close eye on the redevelopment of this pier. I can't believe I have not shot Glastonbury Tor and then there is those skeleton trees near Exmoor.
So lots to think about and hopefully this Twixmas gloomy weather will pass. Please join me if anyone finds themselves down my way.
On another note will this Gavin and Stacey hype ever end? Only mentioning it as this is dead opposite Barry Island.
Pixie has been bored by all this rain and has had to resort to using her imagination. Here she is, after scoring the winner for Catford FC against Doggenham fc.
While the bigger power seen around the system (sort of) reflects the larger, longer and heavier trains, the rule is still the same. Move cars to and from customers. The two SD60M's are seen spotting USG Walworth on train L351. The plan was for these to build a T002 train for Chicago the day before, but plans quickly changed and they were simply used to finish the local work on the Fox Lake subdivison the next morning, seen here.
