However what I love about Goa are its lush greenery, its winding roads lined with coconut trees, its picturesque villages, its quaint architecture dating back to colonial times when it was under Portuguese rule and its unique laidback charm.

Сидел, ломал голову, как в нескольких предложения описать Арамболь - рыбацкую деревню на севере Гоа, второй дом для меня и большей части близких мне людей, родная “гавань для тысяч ищущих сердец”... И вдруг понял, что лучше чем это сделал мой златокудрый друг Антон Салтанов, этого не сделает, наверное, никто. Вот 2 из 100 стихов, ставшего уже культовым, в узких кругах, романа “Орлов” :)))
О, Арамболь, мечта поэта!
И гавань ищущих сердец,
Здесь прячется зимою лето,
Куда летят в один конец
Бродяги, йоги и экспаты,
Народ весьма чудаковатый,
Тут и жонглеры, и певцы,
Бомжи, философы, глупцы,
Седые фрики чарас курят
На пляже в шеках дотемна.
Струятся мантры и вкусна
Еда простая: баджи пури,
Самосы, тали и dal fry.
О, Арамболь, хиппанский рай!
Я помню волны Арамболя!..
Рассвет, закат, прибоя шум,
Где я бродил себе на воле,
Маршруты выбрав наобум.
Где рыбари уходят в море
Навстречу утренней Авроре
Оставив на песке лишь след…
И солнца свет прольёт рассвет
На тех, кто практикует йогу,
В ассанах хитрых на песке,
На тех, кто ходит налегке,
От Арамболя к солнцепёку.
И лижет ноги им прибой
Своей податливой волной.

The Panjim Inn is Goa’s oldest heritage hotel. It is situated centrally in the Latin Quarter of Fontainhas.
The hotel is within walking distance from major sightseeing locations, making it an ideal base for exploring Goa’s rich history, culture, cuisine, and art.
Clicked on 29th September 2014 during my first Goa visit and this one was among the first few long exposure shots I had with my Hoya ND 400 (9 stop). It was cloudy, rainy during sunset. I had to wait and wait for almost 30 minutes. Drizzling stopped suddenly and then the lights came out magically for 10-15 minutes. Thank God, I could click a few shots before it again started pouring.
Love this Beach. Will visit again
(Just a small NOTE to all my amateur photographer friends- While Shooting with ND filter of this magnitude, the camera live view screen becomes completely Blank and Black and you cant able to see anything material through your view finder. That's an amazing experience though as you need to adjust everything manually including the damn exposure :) :) )
